Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThere can be spiders/bugs in your room or toilet, we didn’t mind just an FYI
A great place to relax, good snorkelling and we hiked to the village nearby and everyone was very welcoming. As two vegans we were well feed. You can pay by bank transfer but cash is easier

United KingdomMeals varied. Some were delicious, though the okra wasnt very popular. Some were larger meals, one had no rice or other carbs so hungry teenagers needed more. Some more fresh fish would be nice. One paddle board needs a repair. And new fins for them would help.
Stayed in the new rooms. Really clean, nice to have own bathrooms, shower gel, towels etc. no air con but it wasnt needed, as good high ceiling and plenty of windows with mosquito mesh over. Lovely beach with great reef not much of a swim to get to ( 50 metres) Lovely to have tea and coffee available when wanted. Staff very friendly.

AustraliaNothing but remember it is a homestay not a resort.
It was a homestay but the accomodation was all separate bedrooms (some with shared bathroom) except for the dormitory of 6 beds. They are expanding due to the quick success of the business and it is definitely justified. The reef is easily accessed and is extensive. The day trips, including swimming with mantas, are varied and reasonably priced. I loved staying here and I will be back next year to enjoy the new dining room!!

SingaporeBreakfast should be cooked only when guests are ready to eat since it is of flexible time. However, the staff prepared it too early so in all my 4 days stay, all breakfast were cold.
Nice room, staff and landlord all very friendly and made me feel very comfortable staying there. Meals were great and room is good size. Flexible breakfast time.

Australiai would have liked a more comfortable room with a toilet and shower but I had no expectations of that in a home stay of this kind
Great location on beautiful private beach. Very friendly and helpful family, Much of the food was locally grown and we has some interesting Fijian dishes mainly gathered from the sea. Coral reef is out from the beach and they will take you to great coral gardens and to see the manta rays. We were there with a 3 and 6 year old and it was Very child friendly and safe. The accommodation is quite basic, with shared toilets and cold shower. We would definately return.

For the last night I got an upgrade to the new build bungalow, which was really lovely and so good 👍. I would like to come back anytime. A 100% recommendation. Thank you so much 😊.

New ZealandThe bathrooms and facilities are basic, but for the price it is reasonable.
The staff were amazing. So kind and generous. They were particularly kind with our transfer to another island, when the yasawa flyer did not pick us up, they took us on their boat and made sure we arrived safely. The rooms are good and the beach is beautiful.

AustraliaWe really enjoyed our stay in Wai Makare, the room was spacepus and clean, the food was delicious and the beach was absolutely stunning. There are lots of activities available, and we particularly enjoyed snorkelling over the reef. We basically had a private beach as there are no other homestays on the side of the island. The hosts were really welcoming and kind, and we had access to tea all day long!

AustraliaThe location is amazing! It felt like you had a private beach to yourself and there were other beaches you could easily walk too and it was really giving untouched isolated beauty vibes. You could go snorkelling right off the beach and the coral here was beautiful! It was more colourful than I’ve seen in years! Seru and everyone else was absolutely lovely, so kind and welcoming, made you feel like family and they really look after you! Thank you so much! Keep in mind this is a homestay, cash only, electricity in the evenings, there is wifi (but it’s only on briefly and near the main area not your rooms) and mobile signal is patchy, but it didn’t matter and you don’t really need it, helps you live in the moment. Hopefully one day we will return :) thank you!

AustraliaMosquito repellant definitely necessary and make sure to take enough cash with you to pay for your stay!
Seru and family were fantastic hosts when we visited in October. They live on a spectacular picture postcard Fijian beach. Delicious meals provided by Layla and co. Was very worth hiking across the island to Gunu village. So many amazing fresh fruits growing locally, which we were lucky enough to try many of! Would highly recommend this place to any travellers heading through the Yasawa.

United Arab EmiratesToilets/ showers are basic and not that well lit (even in the day) but you get used to it after the first day
The location is very peaceful and everyone working there is really friendly. The food is very reasonably priced (and accommodate for veggie) compared to a lot of other places in Fiji and it was all very tasty! Apart from one night of rain we had a fire accompanied by Fijian songs/ music every night. The reef you can swim to from the beach is really cool and one of the more colourful ones you'll find! Accommodation and facilities are very basic, but they do the job. They are in the process of building a lot more, so I’m sure this will be better in the near future! Very cool to experience a more authentic experience compared to some of the resorts!

Snorkelling was nice at high tide, beach is cool to chill at, hammocks and seats! Dorm was quite open but not a problem all other guests were lovely. Meals were yummy!
