How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The decoration is somewhat sterile

Verified reviewWe stayed as a stop over on our way back home to Portugal. It was just was we needed after a long frustrating road trip. Reception was friendly and fast. Parking is to be booked and was easy to get to, right at the side of the hotel. Very stunning location with lovely views of the river. Not all rooms have views (you get what you pay for!) but I appreciated how quiet was ours which was at the back facing the courtyard of the front of the hotel. We found the bed very comfortable. It is dog friendly, and there is a restaurant with a terrace overlooking the old city are superb, where you can chill and have a very decently priced meal (and you can take your dog with you to eat outdoors). Their trio of sorbets is out of this world! From the hotel, it is a 10-15 minute walk over the old bridge to explore the old town. We didn't breakfast there but wished we had spent an extra night. For the price of our room, it was one of the best places we stayed in years.
Our room was indeed a bit small even to stretch our tired muscles after our long car trip. We had to take turns! So we will upgrade next time we go through Albi!

Verified reviewWe stayed in a room with a view of the river and the cathedral and I am not exaggerating when I say it truly is a marvellous view: the pink cathedral of Albi rises majestically over the river bank, dwarfing all other buildings and magically changing colour as the Sun moves across the sky. The room itself was not very big but sufficient for a short stay. The hotel's public areas boast a gorgeous bar, with a balcony overlooking the river, and a ground-floor restaurant, as well as a lovely small garden and a car park.
While the room was comfortable and reasonably well-appointed, we felt that it lacked charm and that it could definitely do with some basic redecorating to match the stylish aesthetics of the bar area.
Thanks for the detailed description and highlighting our latest renovations. Next time you stay with us, don't hesitate to ask for the new rooms our two new magnificent suites. Renaud Manager

Verified reviewWe had a river view room. The room was very comfortable. The staff were friendly, helpful and courteous. Breakfast was included - all you need to start the day. Location was great. Walking distance to Albi old town with its magnificent cathedral. There is a little bus that can take you up hill if necessary. We could the walk easy - we are in our 70’s.

Verified reviewthis is a very well located hotel with a beautiful river view. The hotel breakfast is excellent, and the staff was very friendly. The bartender was also very knowledgeable and made great suggestions for an awesome deconstructed gin and tonic.
we were on the fourth floor room where the air conditioning was basically at the entrance to the room, but the room was U-shaped, so the air did not reach us even when it was set to very cold. We were very hot at night and there was no way for the air to flow even when the fan was at its highest speed. it was so hard that we could not sleep under the down comforter they have, which is the only option they offer to sleep in. We did ask them just for some sheets because it was so hot in there and they did bring those to us. Otherwise it would have been a great experience.

Verified reviewRoom 210 had windows on two sides and a great view, but the windows were low, so it was just the right size to see it from the bed. Water was provided from the water dispenser in a bottle borrowed from the front desk. Breakfast was served on the terrace while enjoying the view. Simple and decent, but no vegetables.
Wifi is a bit weak.

Verified reviewLocation close to city. Lovely view of the river. Good secure on-site parking. Breakfast included. Dinner on the terrace was very pleasant.
Very dated with peeling paintwork, windowsill in room and corridors badly scratched. Room was too warm as airco did nothing. With window open much cooler but the noise of the weir was deafening. Large group of bikers in breakfast area on first day so it was really noisy and most of the items had gone.
Our establishment has just benefited from a very important renovation program and will continue to improve our service. A global work that allows us to obtain an annual average score close to 90/100.

The breakfast is very basic and no variety. The rooms are noisy and hot during the night. Do not open the window because the water of the river nearby makes you crazy
