Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIt was very hot outside and the room had no air conditioning- and the shared areas did not seem to either. The breakfast serving area is too cramped for the number of guests
Striking building in great location with stylish corridors and open atrium area Outside restaurant is lovely and food is good.

United KingdomSadly the mezzanine wasn’t set up for use. Not enough made of the fact that it used to be a convent. Once in the room, it’s like any other hotel.
Very different type of place to stay. Central atrium is stunning This hotel has very thick walls so is very hot. As long as you book a room with air con, like we did, you will be fine

United KingdomThe hotel is in need of a renovation. Not being able to book the parking in advance is not good. Furthermore, charging 21€ for parking is quite steep.
Good hotel in a historic building. The location is excellent, very close to the city centre. Staff members were helpful. Our room was big, comfortable, and very quiet.

United KingdomNot able to pre book parking which was a worry as Lille traffic is very busy if you need to find alternative. Breakfast food area needs rethinking as not good when busy.
Secure parking. (Chargeable) 10 mins walk to main square. Unusual interesting building Comfortable room ( Ask for lower floor to avoid dormer slopes in room)

United KingdomThe staff bar and breakfast could have been a little friendlier towards us. The glass atrium was so hot, couldn’t really relax and have a drink, but weather was very hot. Bet it’s great the rest of the year. Parking was £21 per day.
Loved the historic building and high quality bed linen, towels & toiletries. Location was ideal and having on site parking was a real bonus, though expensive.

United KingdomThe air conditioner didn't work, the next day the engineer could't fix it so we were moved to another room which was a bit of a trial. My friend and I booked a twin room and they offered us a double which was not suitable. We were then offered a suit with an uncomfortable sofa bed. We noticed the king size bed could be split in two to make the room a twin. The reception staff were not allowed to do this because the housekeeping is contracted out to another company. All was ok in the end though. The lighting in the room relies on side lamps, they could do with some brighter central lights. Also the rooms could do with some more plugs.
Restaurant and bar very good. The hotel is a converted convent, really interesting. We loved the cloisters. I would book this hotel again because it is in a great position and is a lovely building

New ZealandCarpet throughout is very stained giving a dirty feel and bedrooms/bathrooms are in need of refurbishment. Service desk was perfunctory and a smile would go a long way but some staff were helpful. Well set up for conferences and there were large groups but it seemed a little impersonal for individual travellers. Great to have breakfast included though it was prescribed & although fresh there was very little room for variation over 4 days.
Beautiful building, good spaces, generous bedrooms & great location. Great to have a car park whilst sightseeing in the region.

United KingdomNo information for visitors in the room or on public display. Recognising that you are staying in an historic building, the lack of air conditioning, particularly in the bar area, is noticeable in hot weather. The standing fan in the bedroom was sufficient as the bedrooms seem to stay cool but the bar area with the glass roof was uncomfortably warm at the beginning of May (it was 26 degrees every day of our stay). Also bar service in the late afternoon and early evening was sketchy.
Secure on-site parking, easy to access. Location in pleasant surroundings, quiet area but easily walkable to old town and centre. Very good breakfast with attentive staff. Everywhere in the hotel was very clean. Recpetion staff welcoming and efficient

NetherlandsThe Room and facilities on our (4th) floor was quite dated and in need of being redone. Airco had on/off and set to 19 at high fan speed. No other controls worked so we either had freezing or too hot room.

The room is clean but the lighting is poor. We had a fridge in the room and two bottles of water. There is a car park. The hotel is located in a quiet street, facing a canal. We only stayed for one night and we had to leave early therefore we did not have breakfast.
