Compliments to the owner, host, overall mensch, Clement. Unique property in the middle of nature — peace, relaxation — the good life.

I would have stayed another week.

Clement is a wonderful host, the property is spotless and very well looked after. Weather wasn't quite warm enough to use the pool but the room was beautiful and bed was very comfortable. Breakfast is simple (pastries and yogurt) but plentiful. Very quiet and peaceful.

Nothing! Though parking can be a little tight if all guests bring a car

Our stay was excellent. We booked the entire place as a group. The pool was great and views are stunning. Loved the fresh coffee from the machine. Clement was a great host.

The house is beautiful with a gorgeous pool. Everywhere was spotless and the bedrooms are beautiful. Clement was incredibly helpful, and we would recommend letting him cook for you one evening as his duck is delicious! The breakfast that is included is lovely too.

There is a shared guest kitchen in the house, but the kitchen is not to be used by guests. We did not know before arriving that you are prohibited from taking your own food/wine and are expected to purchase the wine from the house, go out for dinner or have Clement cook for you. The property is in quite a rural location and therefore this was a little tricky at times. It would of been nice to have been able to use the kitchen to make lunch/dinner.

Clement was an amazing host, so welcoming. The place he has built (himself!) is absolutely stunning. Incredibly well appointed and very comfortable. We needed an iron and ironing board - he sorted it, we needed a very early breakfast - he sorted it. Nothing was too much trouble. HIs cooking is superb - if you get the chance to eat at the property I recommend it highly!

Great surroundings, such an amazing host. Was beyond accommodating and exceeded our expectations. Gave the best tips on where to eat, shop and what the surroundings is known for.

The breakfast was delicious-we had a choice of cereals, yogurt, fresh bread and pastries, fruit juices The outside area was great - plenty of areas to relax in and very peaceful and quiet

I would recommend that you rent a car as taxis can be a little expensive

We loved everything about our gite. It was so comfortable, clean and our host Clement was exceptionally helpful and what a fabulous cook he is! We were delighted to have found such a beautiful place. You definitely need your own transport as taxis are really really expensive. Overall it was a magical few days spent in Barbarens.

We loved everything during our stay! The pictures don’t do this place justice, and Clement was the most wonderful host! He was always checking to see if we needed anything and the 3 course meal he offers is amazing, along with the daily breakfast The beds were so comfortable and the room and place had everything we needed for an amazing stay

We had a warm welcome and enjoyed the very comfortable bed. Possibly the best restored building we have been in. All was superior quality

We would have enjoyed a bit more variety for breakfast. It was delicious but we would have liked some cheese or ham.

The property was beautiful, the pictures don’t do it justice! it was super airy, clean, modern, has everything you need and the views were spectacular.

A stunning house in a beautiful peaceful location. Our room was spotless and very comfortable. The swimming pool and outside area were immaculately kept and it was very relaxing to sit on the sun terrace. Our host Clement was so friendly, helpful and hospitable. Nothing was too much trouble for him and he made a really delicious lunch for our party. I would recommend 100%.

Our host provided fresh produce for breakfast every morning which was delicious. Our host was very helpful, polite and couldn’t do enough for us.
