How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewIncredible staff/owners. Contacted me ahead of arrival to ask if we needed anything, and throughout our stay were perfect hosts. Great location, very clean, excellent breakfast, bike and ski facilities.
A larger shower/bathroom would be nice, but based on the room rate it was still fair.

Verified reviewsuper welcoming hotel, spotlessly clean, relaxed atmosphere, fantastic breakfast, beautiful views of morzine - absolutely everything about our stay was excellent. Particularly, the family room was an awesome size and had some privacy between parent/kid sections. Super close to town but peaceful enough to be quiet and relaxed. Our two little boys loved playing in the garden and trying to tame the family of cats in the hedge! We travel to morzine every year and this is our new place to stay, highly recommend

Verified reviewThe location is central and an easy walk to restaurants, shops and the town centre. The room is clean with a kettle, balcony and free reliable wifi. The breakfast has everything you need and there was also a good gluten free selection. What makes the hotel special are Marion and Alex, the owners, they are friendly, helpful and available. We would definitely return.
There could be a few hooks for bags, towels, etc. The water temperature can be a little temperamental but not too bad. There is noise from other rooms, but nothing unusual for old buildings. All hotels have issues so these are not dealbreakers, it wouldn’t stop us returning.

Verified reviewBreakfast was beautiful with so many options. Everything was clean and we had fresh towels and bedding when required. The owners were very helpful and always on hand when needed. Location was perfect to wander into the centre too.
The bathroom was on the smaller side, if we were to stay longer than a weekend we would look to book a bigger room.

Verified reviewThe hosts, Marion and Alex, were outstanding delivering service with a smile. Many thanks from us. Our 4 night stay was really enjoyable at this extremely well located hotel. All uplifts and the town centre can be reached within a short walk . We visited in July 2025 and benefited from the Multipass (which participating hotels can issue). This gives pedestrian access to lifts, buses, sports centre etc. at a cost of only Euros 3/per person per day. This cost can be added to your bill. Thanks again and we hope to return soon.

Verified reviewAmazing stay – perfect for our mountain biking holiday and more! We had an incredible stay at Hotel Bel Alpe in Morzine. The location was perfect – close to gondolas, town centre, and restaurants – and everything was spot on for what we needed. Marion and Alex were outstanding hosts – so friendly, helpful, and full of local knowledge. They really went above and beyond, even giving our son a few French lessons and some pétanque tips 😃 The hotel was ideal for our mountain biking trip, with secure bike storage and excellent facilities. It’s also super family-friendly with a lovely, relaxed vibe that made us feel totally at home. Breakfasts were a highlight – we’re especially going to miss the delicious crepes! We’ve already recommended Hotel Bel Alpe to friends back home in Australia and hope to return to Morzine again one day. Huge thanks to Marion and Alex for making our stay so special!

Verified reviewWhen we arrived, we were met by Marion and her husband and were given such a warm welcome. We loved it. It is a family-run business, and they were absolutely lovely, accommodating, and gave fantastic customer service. The breakfast was very nice, and the garden was well kept and inviting. We would definitely stay there again.
My only quibble would be our room. As the weather was great(hot), the room was extremely warm with no air conditioning. Next time, we would definitely get a bigger room. Left it quite late to book, but we are glad we stayed there and would stay there again.
