How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewFirst, the owners were exceptional and truly considerate! We hadn't planned for it to be 38°C while we were visiting and they removed heavier bedding and placed a fan in the room before we got there. The room and bathroom were both very spacious and the bed was comfortable! We didn't use the sauna as it was so hot outside during our day but it looked so lovely, but the bath tub was amazing and an absolute blessing to cool off in.

Verified reviewWe enjoyed the location, the bath, sauna and quirky decor. The bed was comfy.
Didn't realise it was a basement. Wouldn't want to stay more than 2 nights.

Verified reviewWell located Easy check-in/check-out
I did not understand it was actually a room in a basement with a window right onto the street. So you don’t have any natural light, you can’t open the window (since there are people walking right in front on the place) and it’s in a basement so it smells like humidity and it’s gloomy. It’s not what I was looking for, even though the owners tell you to text them if they are too loud (you are inside their home so they live right upstairs), you live with people above you so you have constant noises of furnitures being moved, people and walking and simply living their life but if you need some quietness, not the right place in my opinion. The bedsheets and the place overall smell damp, which makes sense since their is no air coming in or out.

Verified reviewVery close to the tram that takes you to the city center in five minutes.
Parking your car is difficult and expensive, so you will have to take into account a 10 minute walk.

Verified reviewThe decoration of this room was great for us. The colors matched well and we were a big fan of the dry sauna in the bathroom. It was easy to access our room and there was a good amount of space. It was close to a tram stop and a bus stop. The person who owns the property was very considerate and brought new towels, toilet paper, and bowls when we needed them.
The ceiling is the family’s floor, and sometimes we could hear noise from walking around, but they gave us their contact incase the noise became too loud (which we never actually needed to message about) It would also be great if there was a microwave in the room so we could heat up food :)
Thank you for this comment. We would be happy to welcome you another Time. I note your feedback… best regards Adeline

Verified reviewIt was in a nice area close to public transport, very comfortable bed and lovely old-fashioned bath. I liked knowing that the family were upstairs in case of any issues.

Verified reviewThe private room was as the photos show. Short walkable distance to city. Love the sauna! Great host, very responsive, friendly and helpful! Everything’s great!
Nth much really! The bedsheet could be drier but I guess it was the humidity those days in the area.

Verified reviewThe place is very good for a short stay. The bed is comfy enough, there is basic stuff like plates, glasses if you want to eat something and there is a small fridge as well. The location is very good as the place is only few minutes to the city centre. For short stays I would recommend that you get a 24h/48h tickets to use the public transport from the TBM app which is quite cheap (we paid 9 euro each for 48h) and it will be really useful. There is a supermarket less than 10 minutes walking.
The only down point is that the floor had a bit of dust and we could see it after walking with our socks. Apart from that, all good.

Verified reviewThe bed was very comfortable and large. The location is close to the tram network.
The room is in the basement of a family home so doesn't get much natural daylight. The room is cluttered so not enough space to move around or put your clothes or bags. The decor is very busy and dated. The bed pillows need replacement.
