How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Verified reviewConveniently located on outskirts of town with tram access into centre which was cheap and easy. Good size room and comfortable king size bed. Majority of staff pleasant and helpful, however a few not so much. Perfect base for exploring Normandy beaches, Bayeux and Mont Saint michel
Restaurant food was not good quality. Both got food poisoning on first night of three. Complained to management but they didn’t seem that bothered and didn’t offer to remove the food bill or discount the stay even when asked. Shame as this gesture would’ve made all the difference

Verified reviewEven though the hotel was busy, but it was fairly quiet. Room was clean. Some staff were more helpful and clear than some others. Good air condition in the room.
Some nights the guest parking in front of the hotel was full. The hotel staff did not exactly make it clear that guests can also use the side parking too. That is where employees of the hotel could park. Only by asking the staff, they would tell you that you can park on the side parking. Therefore, some guests either parked on the green areas or outside the hotel. The hotel must make this clearer for guests as they advertise free parking in booking.com. Alternatively the night staff should be more vigilant and when they see the front parking is full they should direct guests to the side parking proactively.

The restaurant was only open a few hours a day very inconvenient . Dinner was busy as it opens for 2 hours a night and it’s quite late for children. LThe staff seemed to sit around eating meals when it wasn’t open . Breakfast was ridiculously overpriced at 20 euros . One of the staff came into our room while we were sleeping and quickly went back out without saying anything (my son was awake).location has not much around it , it wasn’t near the ferry port probably 15 to 20 min drive

Verified reviewThe hotel was perfectly good as a stopover before the ferry home. It was clean and the pool was nice enough. The car park was suitable for a van and secure. The room was clean with enough space just for a family of four. Reception staff were great with languages.
The restaurant was doing only a BBQ dinner at £30 per person, no other food option. This was not appealing - we have two vegetarians in the family. We had been hoping to eat at the restaurant and use the pool more, but instead chose to go into the city centre by tram for dinner, which was nice but with kids a much more stressful evening than hoped. Shampoo in shower but no conditioner.

We only stayed for one night as a stop over to Brittany so didn't use the facilities on offer such as the heated swimming pool. There's a fast food estabilshment across the road that does tacos which were surprisingly tasty and cheap, and a petrol filling station 2 minutes away with drinks/crisps etc. Would we stay again, of course.
