Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

The apartment is very clean, it is extremely well equipped, and the bed is super comfortable. We stayed for two nights, but we could easily stay for weeks. The location is also very central.

We loved our stay at this beautiful, comfortable apartment. Pierre was so helpful and even took his Taxi for us on a Sunday when we realised there was no other transport . Highly recommend

Location very central. Owner very helpful ( be reassured if you don't hear from him before arrival he will respond very promptly if you message him) . Everything thought of for a comfortable stay.

Fantastic appartment with everything you need. Really well equipped. We only spent two days in Chablis but can see it beig perfect for a longer stay as well. Great location and very comfortable.

The password given was incorrect and I had to contact the owner for the correct one. It seemed there was no connection to wifi until the owner made contact and provided the passcode at the end of the second day. In future, could the passcode be stated on the documentation or leave a note at the flat?
The location was close to the town centre of Chablis which worked well. The flat was clean and spacious with all the modern conveniences, most of which I didn't use.

Owner is a great man - helpful and with good sense of humor. Property is located in very center of town on main street, but sleeping room's window opens to yard and makes the nights silent.

A lovely apartment in the centre of Chablis. We appreciated attention to detail: a very well-equipped kitchen, a comfortable bed, lovely linen and even bathrobes and slippers. The host, Pierre, had given us detailed information prior to our stay and was making sure we had no problems. Also, it was easy to park just round the corner in a free car park.

Steep stairs to access the apartment. A little perilous when descending the stairs with luggage.
Absolutely perfect location in the Main Street of Chablis. You are less than one minute from all of the best places in Chablis. Huge apartment with massive living space and massive bedroom. Most comfortable bed in the long time. I slept better here than at home. Very friendly host.

The location of the unit is perfect for visiting the special charming town of Chablis. We arrived on a sunday when there is a farmers market in the main street. Some special finds for your stay. The unit is well set up with crockery and cutlery.

Excellent communication with the owner and good instructions for access. Spacious and well equipped apartment. The boulangerie 50 metres away for morning croissants was a bonus. The butcher is another 5 meters further on! Excellent centre for visiting the area, tasting and buying wine. The town of Auxerre 20km away is certainly also worth a visit
