How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewAn unexpected double booking led to my being moved to the neighboring hotel – and what could have been an inconvenience turned into a highlight of my stay. The team handled everything within minutes, with remarkable professionalism, genuine warmth, and a truly delightful dinner that made the evening feel special. The following day, I had the pleasure of meeting the hotel manager over an exquisite lunch. Not only was he incredibly gracious – he also happens to be a truly exceptional chef. The surrounding landscape is nothing short of breathtaking, and the cuisine rivals that of any Michelin-starred restaurant. A place full of charm, care, and culinary excellence – I will most certainly be back.

Verified reviewSTÉPHANE generously offered for us to dine with him and his family as everything was shut for a holiday. What a night, he’s an excellent Michelin chef and also a great entertainer singing both French and English songs. The apartment is modern and large and the hotel is in a beautiful spot with a short walk to the source of the river. A memorable stay that we will never forget. Chur
We would’ve liked to stay longer

Verified reviewThis is a quiet and slightly remote place, perfect if you need a break from a busy life. The area is absolutely beautiful, with great hiking spots nearby, so it’s ideal for nature lovers. Even though it’s a bit out of town, there’s a restaurant on-site that serves breakfast for guests, and lunch/dinner for anyone. The staff are super friendly and really make you feel at home. There's a city with a supermarket at 15 minutes driving (Baume-les-dames). The room was spacious, comfy, and had everything I needed for a short stay. I was traveling with my dog, and that was no problem at all—he was even welcome in the restaurant. It’s just a 5-minute walk to the spring (La Source Bleue), where you get an amazing view of the clear blue water. There’s also a hiking trail that starts right in front of the place—just a heads-up: part of it is blocked by fallen trees, but you can easily go around. In general; It’s definitely worth the money you pay for your stay.
- The room was very spacious and beautiful, but the walls/floors/ceilings were very thin, so you could hear every movement in the building. My first night, I woke up at 6am already from people walking around in one of the other rooms, the second night it started around 7am. This is of course not the fault of the staff, but it did impact my stay, since in general I won't wake up that early on the weekend. - As someone who is trying to be full-time vegetarian, I was a bit disappointed to see there were no vegetarian dishes on the menu. I didn't ask for it because I don't like to be the "difficult customer", and I ordered the fish, which was delicious, but adding a (/some) vegetarian option(s) to the menu would be a nice plus :-)

Verified reviewIf you want to truly experience France in its essence, this is the place to visit. Don't make the mistake of booking just one night-you'll want to stay longer. The aroma inside and outside is simply delightful. A huge amount of respect to the owner.

Verified reviewSmall hotel (actually just a couple of rooms located above a restaurant). located literally in the middle of nowhere. The "town" consist of 2 streets and a couple of houses. Nothing to do or see there. Great for stay over night while travelling with a car. Staff is very friendly. Breakfast was good. Room was spacious. Decent price. Pet friendly.

Verified reviewThe room exceeded my expectations, larger than in the pictures and beautifully decorated. The bed has an excellent quality mattress. The staff is incredibly friendly. Breakfast was abundant and very tasty. The restaurant is simply a must. I don't speak French, but the waiter took the time to explain the menu in English very well. Dinner was extremely delicious with some unexpected flavor sensations. The owner speaks very good English because he worked in Belfast, Ireland for a long time.
Nothing, it was simply excellent
