The accommodation was lovely and rooms were very clean and comfortable. It over-looked a lovely garden and lake. The owners were very pleasant and only spoke French (which made me speak French and not be lazy!?). We had a lively picnic by the lake.

Unfortunately the swimming pool had gone green in the hot weather and was not really usable (although we did risk it!). The internet was also not working so no WiFi, and no TV either. I have an 11 and a 13yr old - so these were an issue. There was also no instructions on what to do on arrival and I ended up nearly joining a neighbours party to get entry to the house. The house was in a residential area so there was some noise from the party next door until late - but this didn’t bother us too much

The location, an independent room just outside of Tours and within an extensive garden, was good. Room was a good size and clean.

That basically every detail mentioned in the ad was not as advertised: - Room? Good but no trace of the separate dining area pictured in the ad for the 'superior double room'. There was space but outside in the garden. - WiFi? Problems since day 1 and owner clearly not knowledgeable on their own system. We managed to solve it, only to have the whole system completely down 3 days later; that's when we decided to leave early as we were supposed to partly work while there. - Garden/park? Well, yes, but also 10 free-roaming cats who did not have access to sand-boxes or training for it. Result: the park was a minefield of cat-turds (see pictures attached) - Swimming pool and jacuzzi? Only if you are willing to defy the first cloudy-water swimming pool/ jacuzzi in history. Filters only turned on once we complained and 24 hours later the water was improved but still not enough to be clear. No trace of PH testing or general maintenance. The area was un-maintained and dirty, including rust around the swimming pool /glass cover and moss/mould on the glass panes (see pictures attached). - Fridge/Microwave? Yes, but basically in a garage, unfortunately with a leak of some kind which made it smell of damp/mold. - Air conditioning? Luckily it was not so hot that we absolutely needed it because, you guessed it, it was impossible to get it started. - Honourable owners? No - we moved out 3 nights early because of the multiple problems making our stay unworkable, on the verbal agreement that we would receive a refund for those 3 nights. Owner went no contact, not answering either to messages via Bookkng or directly to personal number.
