We stayed in this attractive and peaceful location for 3 nights on our return from the south of France. The building was once a mill which I believe is why it is counted as being on an island, water channels still exist around the property. It isn't marooned there and is easy to find and access with a Satnav. The building has been lovingly and tastefully restored by its owner, Thierry, who made us feel most welcome from the start. There are two main rooms available along with a Gîte. Breakfast is served either in the dining room or al-fresco in the lovely garden. Breakfast consists of fresh croissants, breads and gorgeous home made jams. The property is located right by the river Sioule to the side below the road bridge and the heritage train Bridge built by Eiffel in 1869, but is not overlooked because of tree cover. It is a stunning location with hiking trails nearby. There are some kayaks available to use, with life jackets and I was told the river is safe to swim in if you fancy a dip. My OH, a keen angler, caught a decent bream whilst there so he was chuffed. Thierry is a kind and generous host. We had enquired if evening meals could be provided and found out Thierry was previously a chef. We enjoyed two three course meals and enjoyed them both. Great value too. We feel lucky to have found such a location and friendship and intend to return in the future.
