Reviews of Chambre avec vue

We liked everything about our stay at Chambre Avec Vue, even down to the fact that it's named after my favourite film. It's well named too; each room has a stunning view of Carcassonne. Serge and Jean Yves were inspirational hosts and we will definitely be going again. The rooms are beautifully decorated with carefully chosen images and wonderfully curated pieces of furniture.

We liked everything.

This is a gem of a place. Beautifully presented with fabulous hosts, Jean Yves and Serge. The rooms are perfect, stylishly presented and very comfortable. Fantastic shower too.Wonderful pool too. The little touches make this place - iced water brought to the pool whilst you take it easy - a bowl of (delicious) homemade ice cream whilst relaxing in the shower. Breakfast is delicious, homemade brioche, jams and fabulous conversations and laughs with the hosts, who genuinely cannot do enough for you to make your stay comfortable. A short walk to the centre and the medieval city so well located too.

Marvellous hosts (thank you both!), lovely breakfast with homemade brioche etc, gorgeous pool, super comfortable bed, great views, modern facilities. Great food including a beautiful cake (thank you for accommodating my partner’s last minute request for my birthday!)

From the moment we arrived, Serge and Jean-Yves made us feel genuinely welcome. Their warmth and attentiveness went far beyond five-star service—they were truly exceptional hosts. The property itself is a hidden gem. Stepping through the gate feels like entering a secret Garden of Eden: lush, serene, and beautifully maintained. Every detail of the decor is modern, tasteful, and thoughtfully curated, and the entire space is impeccably clean and spotless. Breakfast was a highlight: fresh, delicious, and served with care. If you're looking for a place that combines elegance, comfort, and heartfelt hospitality, this is an absolute must-stay. We can't recommend it highly enough.

This place has amazing atmosphere and beautiful rooms to offer. Attention to details is impeccable. Serge and Jean are super charming hosts and make you feel at home, great cooking food. Enjoy the great views from the terrace and lovely pool.

All was really perfect

The photos do not do the place justice. A stylish and comfortable home where the attention to detail is evident. The two hosts are so welcoming and generous with their house and their time. Their local knowledge was invaluable. The breakfast where everything was home made was a real highlight. Would definitely recommend to anyone staying in Carcasone.

I do not have one complaint from our stay.

The rooms are beautifully decorated and the views from the rooms and pool area are AMAZING!! Really breathtaking. The breakfast is absolutely delicious with home made jams and smoothies and french toast to die for! The hosts are so friendly and kind and make sure you have a wonderful experience. We would 100% stay here again and have recommended it to friends and family.

Superb hosts, warm and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. Comfortable, spotlessly clean rooms with air con. Beautiful pool area and spectacular view of the city. Fabulous breakfast, homemade jams and brioche. Jean Yves uses local fresh produce in his wonderful cooking, some from his own garden. Serge was very knowledgeable about the local wines and the area. They both made me feel very special and I was extremely well cared for during my stay. I will definitely be back!

Hosts were amazing could not do enough for us. Reserved restaurants, shared good places to visit and see. They made us feel very welcome and we will return. It was a perfect mini break for us.

Beautiful fully renovated house with fantastic helpful friendly hosts. Fantastic breakfasts with home made cakes. Views from breakfast patio and rooms outstanding over the valley to Carcassone Castle. Within walking distance of restaurants and Carcassonne Castle.

Breakfast was superb. A host of fresh fruit in a morning with multiple types of fresh bread and cakes. Fresh juices were also available daily. We had 3 evening meals and I can honestly say they were excellent and so delicious. Presentation was superb. The property is luxurious and just a short walk away from Carcassonne town centre and has excellent transport links to other cities. John Yves and Serguei, paid constant attention to the surroundings but more importantly to their guests and their enjoyment.

I loved everything and the only suggestion I could possibly make is to have a second, maybe full length mirror in the bedroom.

I have nothing negative to say about our stay at Chambre avec Vue! The room and facilities are superb. Sophisticated chic. Quality cotton bed linen. Comfy bed, excellent shower. As for the view! Wow! Overlooking the old city beautiful in the day and lit up at night. Lovely pool with sunbeds. Hidden spots to relax in the garden in the heat. Undoubtedly the highlight of the stay is the host himself, Jean Yves, ably assisted by lovely Valerie. Jean Yves, goes above and beyond. From bringing fresh mint water poolside, breakfasts with homemade brioche and conserves. He is an excellent chef and I would recommend booking in for a gourmet evening on site to appreciate his fabulous cooking and hosting. All produce was fresh some from his own garden. We will definitely return and bring family and friends to experience the magic! ❤️🇫🇷

Jean Yves and Serge are wonderful hosts. The pool is lovely and the views of Carcassonne stunning. The dinner on the terrace was beautifully cooked. They go out of their way to make you feel welcome and are great fun to be with.

Oh my, where do we start with this fabulous place! We'll begin with two most wonderful hosts, Jean Yves & Serge - they really did make our stay truly special. They are such welcoming, kind and thoughtful people, who really want you to enjoy your stay with them. Food - Delicious! No processed food here! All freshly prepared and locally sourced produce - mainly from their own garden which is great. Everything is made inhouse and wonderfully created by Jean Yves. I am gluten free which can be sometimes be tricky, however, Jean Yves went out of his way to create some beautiful dishes. He is the most wonderful chef so we would recommend booking a reservation for lunch/dinner. Rooms - Perfect! All the rooms are beautifully designed and you can see the attention to detail that has been made when creating these. Pool & Garden - Perfect relaxation! The pool and garden. It is so nice to come back after a day of sight seeing to relax in the calm space of the garden and cool down in the refreshing pool. Location - Spot on! From the property: 5 mins walk to Can Du Midi 10 mins into the centre of Carcassonne 20 - 30 to the Castle ( depending on how fast you walk) For us the perfect location for us as we didn't want to be directly in the centre of Carcassonne. Bonus A fabulous hairdryer, not a cheap travel hairdryer - a proper one! The cherry on the cake!! We really wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place - we didn't want to leave! We hope to return at some point in the future, however, until then we wish Jean Yves and Serge all the best for the future xx

There is nothing that we can report that we didn't like about our stay!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and cannot speak highly enough of the exceptional hospitality provided by our hosts. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel completely at home. The house was beautifully decorated, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere where comfort was clearly a priority. Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts—they went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. The garden was a real highlight, full of character with a variety of plants, homegrown vegetables, and a stunning pool and patio area. We had the pleasure of enjoying a few lunches outside, which made for truly memorable moments. The food throughout our stay was simply sublime—better than many top restaurants we’ve experienced. Every meal, whether breakfast, lunch, or dinner, was a delight, with an incredible attention to detail and more than enough to satisfy. It was clear that a lot of care and thought went into everything served. This was a truly special stay, and we will definitely be returning!

An exceptional stay – truly memorable! My experience at Chambre Avec Vue was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I arrived, the hosts made me feel incredibly welcome. They were warm, friendly, and went above and beyond to help — including offering thoughtful support with my onward travel plans. The property is immaculate, with real attention to detail throughout. My room was spotless, beautifully presented, and very comfortable. It had a view of the castle which was amazing to wake up to. Breakfast was a standout — not only delicious, but also featuring homemade jam from their garden, which added such a personal and charming touch. The hosts ensured there was food to cater for my 6 year old daughter too. Nothing was too much to ask of them. It’s clear that the hosts take great pride in what they do, and it shows in every aspect of the stay. I wholeheartedly recommend Chambre Avec vue and will definitely return — a truly special place.
