Charming and a quintessentially French homestay. Although the hosts spoke very little English, they were friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was simple but quite adequate.

The bed in the room I stayed in, has seen better days. The mattress is old and unsupportive. Traffic noise can be quite intrusive.

Very helpful owner despite my problems with arriving beyond the check-in window and navigating my language difference! Surprised to find oven/hob/microwave/fridge/freezer offered in the room compared to most hotels (but didn't use them myself for my one night stay). My room had a dedicated exterior door leading to a lovely stream/short path just outside. Perhaps the closest hotel to the Aeroplume human propelled blimp experience/attraction. Breakfast served in a nice traditional feeling room.

Helpful comments for other visitors: Note that this property is located in an area with minimal taxi facilities (local or e.g. Uber) as I found out, I very strongly recommend driving yourself or travelling with someone who can drive. Local shops/takeaways may also close late afternoon. Don't bring urban expectations.

Very hospitable hosts, cozy atmosphere, nice breakfast and all necessary things in the room (also plates, tea, coffee, etc.) Had a great sleep in comfy beds and the breakfast with croissants and bread from local bakery made a good start for the day!

Difficult to find somewhere to eat in the village. Plenty of restaurants but mostly closed on a Wednesday.

Owner let up put our bikes in his locked garage. Rooms very spacious with kitchenette.

The fact that we could store our motorcycles under cover although access was difficult.

The property is on several levels so there are a lot of stairs depending on which room you are allocated. My room was off the dining room. It was spacious but not particularly well appointed and I was kept awake most of the night by the half hourly chiming of grandfather clock in the dining room. My room had a kettle, fridge, microwave, cutlery and crockery but there was no tea or coffee makings. The room was not particularly well maintained with a number of things broken which could easily be repaired. The proprietor was friendly enough but had no English and I don’t speak French so communication was difficult.

Property and Owners, were full of charm and nothing was too much trouble! Great location for sightseeing and not far from the ferry terminal at Cherbourg!

Only issue was, finding a parking spot on the road outside!

House / room rather quirky - cluttered and untidy. Bed was very comfortable but toilet and shower facilities were not great. Toilet seat was broken and masticating system did not work well. Worst of all were used soap blocks left in soap dishes in the bathroom. Why would anyone want to use soap that had been used by someone else? Breakfast was very average with liquids, milk, water , coffee served from dilapidated flasks. Lovely bread though!

Hot water could have been hotter

Felt so welcomed from the moment I arrived. Fresh Baguette and coffee each morning, really spacious room with kitchen appliances was extremely handy. Right in the heart of the picturesque town of Montebourg with easy road links.

It was clean & comfortable, host was attentive. We were able to securely park our bikes & had a good breakfast.
