How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewI stayed solo in this guesthouse in Lourdes and overall had a good experience. The landlady is very kind and helpful, which really adds to the stay. The location is excellent — only about 7 minutes’ walk to the Grotto and Sanctuary, close to shops, restaurants, and around 10 minutes to the train station. Breakfast is simple but nice (baguette, butter, jams, a croissant, and Nespresso). The apartment also has a kitchen and small fridge if you want to prepare light meals, fresh linen sheets, and plenty of space in the bedroom for luggage. As a solo traveler, I also felt very safe here.
That said, the cleanliness could be improved. I found the shower and toilet not well cleaned when I arrived. Guests are asked either to leave the place clean before departure or to pay a €20 cleaning fee, which may explain why standards weren’t as high as expected. The mattress wasn’t very comfortable, and being on the main street, it can be very loud until midnight. There’s also a curfew — after midnight you can’t re-enter until around 7 am, so it’s not ideal if you want flexibility. I think this guesthouse is most suitable for solo travelers or couples visiting Lourdes mainly for religious purposes, who value proximity to the Sanctuary, a welcoming host, and don’t mind some noise or stricter rules.

Verified reviewPerfect location, literally 3 minutes walk to the main entrance of the Sanctuary. I had a spacious and bright studio with two big windows and a balcony and a well equipped kitchenette for self catering. The hostess is very kind and helpful and makes you feel at home. I have been there already twice, so I would definitely go there again.

Verified reviewThe location was great, close to the main sites and walkable from the rail station. The continental breakfast, especially the croissants and bread were delicious.
There is an extra 20 Euro charge for having the room cleaned, or you can do it yourself.

Communication Confusing booked with breakfast kept getting communication advising we never had it included and not supplied to studio we booked. Then when we arrived told the studio we booked not available and we had been given a room with no kitchen. Offered another room for next day but still not a studio with kitchen so no point moving. Breakfast for 2 consisted of 1 demi baguette, 2 croissants, two little square butters, 4 little squares of jams. 3 teabags and long life milk.
We would like to remind you that you booked a studio for four nights. On the day of your arrival, we experienced a technical problem due to the water in your studio.we repaired on evening .We offered you a nice room of course only for the first night only. The next day morning the studio was ready for you. You said us that you refused to take the studio, claiming that you preferred to stay in the room and no move for you studio ready we dont undetstand why .Your studio was ready on morning. We do not understand the poor rating you gave us for your review. As indicate on site breakfast is continental with bread and croissants We are are sorry we dont do américain breakfast with eggs , ham and cheese We have done our best to help you.

Verified reviewGreat location to stay for Lourdes, especially if you want to focus on Saint Bernadette and The Grotte. It is 10 minutes on foot from the train station, nearly the same time as from Sacral place. It is a good point to go otherwise, like to Gavarnie (line 965, 2 euros for an amazing trip with gorgeous waterfalls) 😍 ❤️ The studio (Saint Micheal) is comfy. You may find some devices in the kitchen (fridge included), microwave, electric kettle, coffee machine for capsules (dolce gusto), bathroom divided from a toilet, cabin is quite small, (rather not for oversized persons or disabled) but still manageable 💪💪 Good price for that place, it is preferred to clean after the stay (1 hour is definitely enough to save 20 euros), you can pay otherwise to make owner extra money (tipping hostel is better than restaurants located nearby 😀😀) And the last- check in hours, it is pleased to inform the hostel about late arrival, max 8pm is possible, but still tgv train approaches station at 7pm, so there is a window to check in
There is no duvet in the room, only a blanket, but still, it is warm enough, especially for a couple 😀

Verified reviewThe location was ideal for quick access to the Grotto. The owner-hostess Elisabeth was very helpful and accommodating, the room concise but comfortable, the kitchen suitably furnished, and the price highly competitive for the area. Well worth considering!
Room size is adequate but comfortable. Larger room there wasn't available at time of my booking.

Verified reviewI really enjoy the property where I stay. It may not have all the extravagant features found in luxury places, but its simplicity adds to its charm. The cozy atmosphere makes it feel like home, providing a warm and inviting environment. The design is practical, allowing for comfortable living without unnecessary clutter. I appreciate the little details—like a sunny corner for reading or a snug balcony for morning coffee—each contributing to a sense of peace. There’s something comforting about being in a space that embraces simplicity while offering a welcoming feel. Overall, it’s a perfect blend of comfort and straightforwardness that I truly value.
Nothing really. Everything reach my expectations
Thank you so munch

Verified reviewMissing essential instruction upon arrival. An over abundance of info in 2 languages. Floor was not clean. Water was lukewarm. Queen size bed was completely comfortable but should have been made upon arrival. The electric radiator worked well. It was quiet.
We are very surprised by your comment and your mediocre rating of 4 out of 10. On the day of your departure, you told us that your stay was perfect. We don't understand the meaning of your comments.

Verified reviewLocation, it was a room with a two burner electric stove a small refrigerator, I had the option to purchase a pod for coffee and croissant for 5 euro a day , luckily there was a grocery store five minutes away and I went ahead and bought eggs baguette chicken slices some butter yogurt etc- spent 15.00 and was able to have a full breakfast- three days… didn’t realize there weren’t any spices- called Elizabeth and she lent me salt and pepper … upon leaving I called her and gave her any left over food I had purchased ..FYI, bring your toiletries… she provides a blow dryer - which was great , also- I saw someone complain about entering through the back- NO it is not entering through the back - literally you walk to the end of the corner it is around the block… I thought after reading the comment oh you go through a door or alley- No… it’s around the block.. And Elizabeth was there … to show me how to get to room..
Everything was fine- a humble place… if you are looking for a a four five star accommodation- book somewhere else. Very humble , specially if you want quiet - no tv - no radio- very quiet - it was good for me- Was able to walk everywhere at night without feeling any type of danger.. didn’t hear a siren once, Like in Paris- every few minutes.. 🫨
