Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

NetherlandsChateau de Camon is actually part of the Abbey and is steaming in history and character!! Our room, Lavande, was in keeping with the character of the building and was very comfortable with a spectacular view of the 300 year old magnolia tree in the garden. The swimming pool was a nice extra that we made use of. Dinner was held in the gardens of the cloister, with delicious food and good wine. The owners Katie and Peter were very friendly hosts.

AustraliaWhat’s not to like?
Our hosts Katie & Peter have painstakingly preserved and restored a slice of history and have been generous enough to share it with us all! Chateau de Camon located in the beautiful Carcassonne region of South-Western France is a magical and breathtaking setting in which to stay! We absolutely loved our stay and would have no hesitation recommending this historic, boutique hotel to anyone.

CanadaHave to think about that!
The owners are wonderful! Katie and Peter are the consummate professionals who know their game. The building itself just oozes history and the cloisters as a setting for a gourmet meal are something you will be very hard pressed to find anywhere else.

United KingdomThere was nothing that we disliked but would warn those with mobility issues about the stone spiral staircase leading to bedrooms. The old floors are also a little uneven in places.
It’s a very interesting old abbey with a great history. Authentic French decor best described as grand shabby chic. Comfortable beds and great views of surrounding countryside from its elevated position. Excellent continental breakfast at 20 euros a head , taken outside listening to the birdsong. Eating outside in the cloisters in the evening is a memorable treat. Katy and Peter are super hosts who share their knowledge and love of the area. There is chef offering gourmet five course meals two evenings a week. At other times Katy and Peter serve delicious three course meals. The Abbey offers a good wine selection some from its own small vineyard. 10 mins easy drive from Mirepoix.

GermanyWe can unfortunately not recommend staying in the Château de Camon. It is a nice place, no doubt about that, but we were surprised by the treatment. To put it nicely, we were not treated with very much respect. Even though we stayed there for two nights in almost the most expensive room, we were asked by the owner to depark our car as some "people with Porsche" were coming for lunch. Fair enough, the Porsche people need to park their Porsches, but we also need to park our car. There were several parking places down the road and we had a very heavy suitcase, but it was more important that the Porsche drivers could park right in front of the abbey. We felt like second-class guests afterwards. Furthermore, we had booked a dinner and were told it would be a three cours meal, which made sense as in the booklet in the room it stated that on this particular day there would be a three couse menu. When we arrived, we were told that we would actually get a 5 course menu in the restaurant (that we were told before was not even open until June...). Of course this cost us more money, took longer time and was not what we had planned. Again, it is not respectful to treat guests like that. When we finally checked out, the bill for the room was higher then what I had booked on booking.com, I have never experienced this in my life before. I did not mention this, as the breakfast was also more expensive then what they say online, and I did not even really care about the extra money in the end so much, it was really the disrespectful treatment by the owners (the staff is super friendly) that makes us not come back and not recommend. In the end, really disappointing as we had really high hopes for this place.
This is a very nice old abby, the abby itself and the surrounding nature is beautiful.
