Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomIt was very hot 35-39 degrees. There was not a fridge or anything in the room to keep a drink cool. Water or anything.
It was quiet and had a pool. The lady let us in early to be with family who were also staying there

BrazilBed mattress was old and ssomewhat uncomfortable. Nothing they could do about the heat but those who have difficulties with being warm should think twice about going in the summer.

United KingdomMaybe tea/coffee facilities in the room and it’s a bit remote if you don’t have a car. Eg. 40 min walk to train station…
Stunning setting, quiet and peaceful, very grand. Lovely walk along the canal. Pool was lovely. It was 40 degrees during our stay.

GuernseyIt would have been good to know how remote the Chateau is, I would definitely recommend hiring a car. I would also recommend that the Chateau provide water in the bedrooms and possibly a small drinks fridge and tea, coffee facilities.
The Chateau is beautiful, and the location is fabulous but remote. The bedrooms are spacious and very comfortable. The swimming pool is wonderful and the fresh breakfast is superb. The hosts were fabulous and friendly and permitted us to use their kitchen to prepare light supper. The Chateau would be a fabulous stay for groups.

New ZealandThe only off putting experience is the smell in the ground floor - a bit musty. Everything else is fabulous.
Breakfast was delicious. Carine is a marvellous host. The high ceilings in our rooms, the pool, the grounds, the calm and peaceful environment and the walk along the canal made this a truly lovely stay.

United KingdomWe had an absolutely fantastic stay at Chateau de la prade. The apartment, which overlooks a big lawn and is next to the swimming pool, was big and comfy for us (a family of 4), and well equipped. The location is great (you need a car), 2 mins walk from the canal du Midi. The hosts were really nice!

CanadaThe room was cold during the night . My teeth were chattering . The place is old - the last Reno must have been in the late 80’s . There is no internet service . Hey if you want all the amenities stay in a Hilton .
The couple that run the place are wonderful . You feel like you are visiting your aunt and uncle .If you want to experience what it’s like to stray in an old Chateau - this is your place . The breakfast is served with warmth and flair . The grounds are beautiful - located adjacent to the Canal Midi .

SpainNothing, everything was great!
Location was fabulous, close to many local attractions but also out of the way and secluded. The closest town, Bram, is lovely and there are good restaurants and stores nearby. Great, plentiful breakfast with croissants, fresh baked goods, bread, homemade jams, yogurt, and fruit. Nice, clean pool. It’s also nice to be right next to the Canal du Midi (walk, bike, or run in nature!). Staff are friendly and helpful and have great suggestions for local tourism.

Exceptional property - the grounds and the rooms are just outstanding! The hostess Carine and her family are lovely, warm, welcoming people. They provided us with bikes so that we could explore the area - this was really helpful as we are not expert cyclists and do not travel with own bikes, but could still explore and see the surrounding areas, which was great. I’ve not seen many places that do this so it is an added bonus. Carine is really attentive to every detail and the property, the swimming pool and the grounds are immaculate. It was hard to say goodbye but we will be back!

We received a lovely welcome and were shown around the property. Our room was delightful and huge with a sitting area and a little balcony. The bathroom was also huge. There was a lovely swimming pool to cool down in. We were given various keys one of which opened the gate onto the canal path. We used this path to walk to a restaurant about 20 minutes away. The bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was served to us and was truly French. Every care was given to us during our stay. We totally recommend this Château and would not hesitate to come again. Very good value for money.

AustraliaHard to find a fault.
Karen was an exceptional host. The chateau is gorgeous and our room was luxurious. The gardens and pool area were beautiful. We arrived after walking from Carcassone and Karen met us with cool drinks and the offer to provide a ‘simple’ dinner, an extra and very appreciated offer after our walk. We ate the delicious three course dinner in the garden, with beer and wine served as well. Our breakfast included fresh fruit salad, fresh orange juice, yogurt, crisp croissants and warm bread, with accompanying butter and assortment of jams, then coffee. Would loved to have stayed more than one night.
