Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Canada--
A superb hotel. We stayed 4 nights in a 2-storey townhouse facing the pool and the chateau environment was spectacular. We did day trips each day to nearby places of interest -- Vezelay with its beautiful church at the top of the hill, Fontenay Abbey, Avallon, and the picturesque city of Auxerre only a 15 minute drive away. Breakfasts were fine; bed was comfy; free parking on site.

LithuaniaThe whole property and it’s belongings are very stylish, very well equipped and super cosy. Very quiet at all times. Lovely pool. Staff is fantastic- the lady host was warm and nice. The only thing- keep in mind that late check ins or early check outs may cause some inconvenience, so consider these circumstances before booking. Otherwise- the Chateau de la Resle is a fantastic option when discovering Chablis.

AustraliaThe Shower was extremely slippery and high risk. I suffered a broken wrist in Toulouse and therefore taking a shower was a high risk procedure.

Simple breakfast but star quality presentation matched with fantastic service. Plus the owners wanted to ensure that we maximised our enjoyment and experience especially given the short time we had to explore in the region. We discussed scenic routes, places of interest and dining places. The owners and supporting staff (Mary & Riann) were extremely sincere in their interactions with us. The chateau’s facade is Georgian in style and yet it embodies a post-modern art house. It was a delight to explore the interiors of the chateau.

United KingdomThe layout for the bathroom is a bit inconvenient, for privacy and noise, and the hotel does not provide any food service outside the high season.
Beautiful setting and location, exceptional service, good facilities and very spacious room. The room and common areas are well furnished and decorated, and breakfast was very good.

United KingdomApart from the breakfast which is excellent and served by a super helpful and friendly young woman you don’t really get much in the way of service. The setup is such that you take drinks or wine from the honesty bar in the house of by the pool but during the day there is no other food available. You can bring your own snacks to eat or ask for a cold platter for dinner. Nothing wrong with it but good to know beforehand. The owners will give you restaurant tips and make reservations when they are around. To go to Chablis or Auxerre for dinner you have to drive ca. 20mins each way.
A beautiful property in the middle of the countryside, perfectly located to visit the Chablis area. Gorgeous outdoor heated swimming pool. Large park with sculptures and other artwork everywhere. Inside you can share the living room with other guests and admire the large art collection.
