Highly regal, relaxed and tranquil surrounding in a châteaux full of French, even European history, be it social history, military history or family history. The hosts made us feel extremely welcome and "at home" in their own home. A memorable stay we are not likely to forget.

There was nothing we didn't like. It's good to be aware that you will need to travel around 20 mins to the nearest town for dinner/restaurants, but this is a great exchange for the beautiful rural location of the chateau.

An absolutely wonderful stay at the Chateau, perfect for utter rest and relaxation. The Chateau is beautiful, and the rooms have everything you need, and are beautifully decorated. The hosts could not be more friendly or helpful, we arrived early, and even though the room was not ready, we were able to be on site and use the facilities. The pool is gorgeous, and we enjoyed some afternoons just being by the pool and enjoying a picnic lunch in the grounds. The hosts were able to provide diner n our first night, but this must be arranged prior to arrival. Good breakfast with the offer of local fresh eggs and home made jams, and all the delicious things you would expect from a French breakfast. We stayed for three nights, and we cannot wait to return.

The chateau was everything we expected, maybe a little more! It is a beautiful house, in a lovely village. The welcome from the host was really friendly, you just knew nothing was too much trouble and also how much the owners wanted you to enjoy your stay. Our room was really comfortable, nice big bed, furnished well and immaculately clean. We had a walk around the estate - fabulous swimming pool, with well kept area around. Lots of seating and plenty of loungers. The gardens are really lovely and well kept. We booked an evening meal, which is 3 courses but no choice. Although we were asked if there were any allergies. We were very happy with this, we both like our food and are happy to try anything new. First course was Argentinian eggs - very unusual, but tasty. This was followed by shrimps in a Thai type curry - delicious! Lastly we had baked fresh fruit with homemade ice cream. All washed down with an excellent bottle of wine. Fabulous! Breakfast was just as good - plenty of fresh bread and croissants, cereals, cheeses and homemade preserves. It really was a great last night in France.

Nothing - the place is wonderful!

The beautiful tranquility of the place with welcoming hosts. Lovely rooms with a great heated swimming pool. We had a very tasty home cooked dinner and thoroughly enjoyed every moment of our stay. Will definitely be returning for a longer stay. Don’t hesitate to book this wonderful château.

We adored the Chateau de Vauchelles. it was absolutely stunning. The beautiful building and interiors, the gorgeous grounds, the hens roaming free, the divine swimming pool area, the very warm welcome from the kind and generous owners. Fabulous!

This property is obviously used as a beautiful wedding venue, but when we stayed we were the only ones there - The gardens felt a little like the morning after the night before where you could see the potential but it was a little like they hadn’t bothered that week as there were no weddings etc. - sadly the pool was unclean and out of action which was a shame as it was one of the reasons we chose this property and we were not given any prior knowledge of this.
