How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewLouis and Régine were so welcoming and helpful with all aspects of booking and arranging taxis to a wedding we were attending nearby. The setting was beautiful with shady areas to sit and enjoy the peaceful surroundings and with a lovely pool to cool off in. Everything was tastefully decorated with attention to detail from the fab local soaps in the rooms to the delicious home grown/ home made/locally sourced produce at breakfast and evening meal. If you have the chance to stay for one of Régine's amazing home cooked evening meals then definitely do! The flavours were delicious. We only managed to see a few local villages which were beautiful and would love to return and see much more. We really enjoyed staying here and wouldn't hesitate to recommend a stay here.
That we only had a short stay!

Verified reviewLovely property and quiet setting, with a warm welcome from hosts Louis and Regine. As we were spending a week in the fully equipped comfortable apartment we didn't experience breakfasts but we had the pleasure of dining in the restaurant on the three nights Regine cooked . The food was amazing and good value - highly recommended. We had a wonderful week exploring the area by bike on our tandem. We can't recommend a stay here highly enough.

Verified reviewWe had an amazing stay at Chez Brunet. Our hosts, Louis and Régine, were so accommodating. They really cared. The food was amazing with generous portion sizes. The grounds of Chez Brunet were stunning; remote and picturesque with a lovely range of flowers and plants. We loved seeing the chicken and hanging out with Boy the dog. The bed was really comfy and our room had all the facilities we needed for a relaxing time. Thoroughly recommend Chez Brunet!
Nothing to dislike.

Verified reviewPitch-perfect mix of rustic and refined. Beautiful grounds, clean and welcoming. Reginé and Louis went above and beyond to accommodate. It’s a uniquely beautiful property and though having some French would have enriched my experience in France, Reginé and Louis had far better command of English than I did of French so I did not suffer as a result of my language deficiency. Even the hand-soap in the bathroom and the shower gel were divine. There is great attention to detail evident in everything they do. I enjoyed how they balance living in harmony with the environment, and how they showcase the makers of Gers and the south of France in the foods they offer and the places they recommend. It was such a treat to stay here. I hope it won’t be the last time.

Verified reviewChez Brunet is the most fabulous place with the loveliest, most generous hosts you will ever meet. We stayed for 6 days and didn't want to leave. From the very first moment we arrived, they were welcoming and hospitable, It is clearly important to them that all their guests have a really wonderful time in their glorious property and they work non stop to achieve that, but in a relaxed way that gives the impression that they enjoy sharing their home. The swimming pool is pristine and very welcome in the hot weather. They are able to give recommendations of interesting places to visit, and all the produce you eat for breakfast, or for their highly recommended dinners 3 times a week, is from their garden or independent local producers. The rooms are spotless and it is a pleasure to explore their vast garden and woodland - full of tranquil places to sit or lie and read (a hammock, and old metal bedstead with a mattress under the oaks). They have two geodomes with hot tubs which we didn't stay in, but are tucked away in the woodland and also look fabulous. All the guests are invited to share an aperitif before dinner, which is an really nice way to get to know the hosts and the other guests. However, you do not eat together, but on separate tables which gives a perfect balance between conviviality and privacy for couples. We stayed one night in the B and B rooms and the rest of our stay in the immaculate 2 bedroom gite. Both were amazing. I genuinely don't think I have ever been anywhere with such a lovely relaxing atmosphere and thoughtful touches, and that includes very high end country house hotels in the UK. This is a perfect place for nature lovers, and people who need to relax as well as wanting to explore interesting towns and fabulous markets of this relatively untouristy part of South West France.
