How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewLocation was amazing . The young lady who looked after us was a god send great spoken English and served us the best breakfast even though we were the only 2 in the hotel .
Everything seems a bit old however I think it is being refurbished . No one else at the hotel and had to self check in . Felt more like air b and b than a hotel
Thank you very much for your kind words. It was a pleasure to welcome you in our hotel! Looking forward to seeing you again!

Verified reviewGreat place. Ayfer who greeted us on arrival was outstanding. She went out of her way to make us feel at home and couldn't do enough for us. I would totally stay here again. There were some renovations going on at the hotel which didn't affect our stay, so I'm looking forward to seeing the finished new building when I return next year
Nothing.

Verified reviewThe hotel in a very small village and supposedly had a restaurant which is why we booked it to break the journey back home. We knew there would be nothing else in the village. There is no restaurant and they say they can’t change the information on the website. Despite having driven all day we then had to drive again albeit not far but it was not what we wanted to do. The card reader didn’t work well when it came to paying and the TV had basically some shopping channels and nothing mainstream. The signal needs boosting maybe due to the rural location perhaps. However the hotel was very nice and the views lovely.

Verified reviewThe name of the hotel literally means “In the Vines” which is accurate as it has beautiful champagne grape vines on two sides. The village of Chamery where the hotel is located is a twenty-minute drive from the large city of Reims, so it is very quiet. The village is very lovely, but has no shopping, restaurants or conveniences. The owner and hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating.
Hotel has major construction going on. This did not bother us much.

Verified reviewThe room was very clean and well equipped, and the lady was very helpful. There was a good choice for the self-serve continental breakfast. The village is very pleasant, and there is a gorgeous community garden which was nice to explore. It is close to the forest above the vineyards which has lots of great walks.
It seemed a bit like a 'business' venue, rather than a 'typical' hotel - so fine for a short stay, but definitely not very romantic.

Verified reviewSunset from the terras overlooking the hills with vines remains magical. Rooms are clean and bathrooms spacious. Car parking inside the warehouse next door.
Second time I stayed here so I knew what to expect, that is that the B&B has 2nd priority compared to the Champagne operation. English remains a bit of a challenge for their staff but the same can be said about my French.

Verified reviewLovely spot in the middle of the Champagne vineyards. Car parking facilities excellent. Self-service breakfast perfectly adequate, lovely views from the room. Room very comfortable as was the bed. Good centre from which to explore the Champagne region and within easy driving distance from the centre of Reims.
It would have been useful to have a fridge and a waste basket in the room, particularly as there is a bar but it is open only for a couple of hours until 7.00 pm. The bar has a very limited selection of drinks, mostly champagne from the owners vineyard. Beware the 15 euros corking charge for bottles brought in from the outside!

Verified reviewthe room, the view over the village and vines and the breakfast were all really good, the young lady on reception was really helpful and booked an amazing restaurant for us one night in Sacy. Kettle, tea and coffee in the room. Amazing bathroom.
It would have been nice to have milk in the room to make tea, or to have access to some.

Verified reviewNice view from breakfast area Large bedroom and bathroom Receptionist- pleasant (appeared to be the only member of staff)
The bedroom felt dirty, there was a thick layer of dust on both tables in the room. There was no iron, waste bin, complimentary water (or champagne considering the price of room we expected at least a mini bottle on arrival) or fridge in the room. There were paper cups and wooden stirrers. No view from bedroom. The hotel is based on site and the car parking is in the warehouse. There was no evening meal as the chef was off sick although there was a birthday party in the restaurant next door. There were no restaurants or bars in walking distance and the car parking closed at 10.30. so we ended up driving to a Leclerc to buy food. There was a nice view from where breakfast was held although both a plate and a glass we had were chipped. It maybe my expectations had exceeded what was actually on offer as I thought there would be a nice restaurant and maybe a shop selling samples of the products. But definitely over priced and not what I had hoped.

Verified reviewThe property was in a great location. We only saw one young lady the whole stay and she was very helpful and pleasant
It stated it was a hotel with a restaurant and bar it was a bed and breakfast with no restaurant or the restaurant was only open on a Thursday till Saturday. We were there on a Sunday and Monday. The bar was only open from 4 till 7pm and had cans of beer, red wine, champagne and coke. They had 2 bottles of red wine on the Sunday night and none on the Monday. It was not what we expected from the information stated on the booking

Verified reviewThe restaurant wasn't open and there was no cold cuts available as promised on the website. We paid extra for a room with a balcony which actually turned out to be an area at the top of stairs but with nowhere to sit. We would have been better to take a standard room and sat on the communal balconies (which were very nice).
