Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

UkraineThe facility itself is a bit old, and the room itself is simple. However is being kept clean, and it's an overall great value for the price and location
This hotel is extremely well located. We had to use a lot of public transport to move around the city due to limited mobility, and there are plenty of buses that go to every part of the city, as well as the metro, which was the biggest advantage for us. Furthermore, Hotel de la Tour has amazing staff! They were very friendly and made the stay very pleasant. We particularly appreciated that there was a fan in the room to keep it cool.

United KingdomThe shower cubicle was, how do estate agents put it?, bijou. Definitely not a sharing shower but it worked, was clean and did the job.
Location: perfect for getting around the sights. Within easy walk of main train station and a metro stop on the doorstep. Area has lots of options for food and drink so no need to go to the centre of Paris unless you want to. Breakfast was served in your room and was plentiful and filling. The staff were very friendly. We were there during the recent heatwave and the room equipped with a fan and with the windows open it was fairly cool and we were able to sleep. It was fairly quiet as well which is a bonus in this busy location.

SwitzerlandView was not great but we did not care as we were mainly out of the room.
We were walking the Camino Frances. The hotel was perfectly located for exploring Paris but also being close to the Montparnasse train station. The staff were very friendly and the room was very comfortable. The fridge was available for preparing for our trip to St. Jean. I would highly recommend this hotel for all Camino goers.

New ZealandThe lack of air conditioning was the only disappointment, but weather was good so not too hot at night.
We loved the location, made visiting Paris extremely easy and the bed was very comfy! The food in the morning was great as well, the strawberry jam went down a treat every morning.

United StatesThe room felt a little bit run down and the heater was dripping water all weekend which was not ideal. In addition to this, the walls and doors are so thin, so first thing and early in the morning, I would wake up to noise from the breakfast room and reception. The location was fine and in a safe place, but felt far from a lot of activities we were doing.
The staff at the reception desk were very friendly and accommodating. We asked for a late check-out time on Sunday and were able to get it for free. Communication was great. The room felt clean.

ItalyThe price was too high for a 2 stars hotel, but I am afraid this is the trend now in European capitals - and Paris in particular!
The best aspect of the hotel is the staff: very nice and kind people, that really deserves to come back! The rooms are simple but clean, the breakfast is fine. The position is great in Montparnasse, so nothing to complain

United KingdomHotel is on 1st floor of an appartment block with entrance nestled between 2 restaurants, there is a lift Our room had windows to a light well over a roof, only view was of another room and a wall, guess other rooms may have had a view but likely would have had more noise from the street
Good continental Breakfast is served in room as there is no dining area. The staff were very pleasant and helpful Loveley street market on Wednesdays and Saturdays Close to Montparnasse Train and Metro in lively area of Paris with good food and relaxing bars on the doorstep.

United KingdomThe noise was a little disturbing but I countered with earplugs. The decoration was Spartan and bare white surfaces were everywhere in the room.
Breakfast arrived on time and was good quality. The bed was super comfy and the room was warm. The location was excellent and close to a lively cafe district. The staff were super friendly and helpful.
