Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

possible minor inconveniences: an extra blanket/thin duvet would be useful rather than turning up the heat from the aircon the toilet seat seemed a bit loose the shower base appeared to leak
the ambience was historically and architectural interesting the renovation/restoration was thoughtful the fittings were of good quality

The whole experience of staying at Domaine du Chauvet was brilliant. The host. The location was great and food was of very high quality. Definitely staying again.

The double bed was small, and we could hear the guests downstairs in the common area. The location is in an industrial area.

It is a beautifully restored old house. The rooms are beautifully and the property provides a common reception room and self-service kitchen which provides a sense of privacy. The surrounding area is quite peaceful and quiet, located just off A10 and given access to Bordeaux.

Small but comfortable room in a converted barn beside a small chateau. Large shared sitting room chum kitchen for breakfast. Welcoming host. Only an overnight stay but good location close to major routes. Plenty of restaurants for dinner close by.

The general area outside the property was uninspiring with business parks, and light industry, however once inside one could forget all that in a pleasant gated environment with a nice sitting area for guests.
Breakfast was simple but fresh and very adequate. Plenty of tea, coffee, freshly available. A fridge close by for storing personal items, and the proprietor was always on hand in a friendly and welcoming way. He prepared excellent set menu dinners as required at a good price and quality.The location was very convenient : although outside the city of Bordeaux a short drive of 5-10 mins took us to the métro at La Gardette with a free car park and family group return ticket to ride in and out. Parking at the domaine felt safe behind gates.

As it was only a stopover, a little shower gel would have been helpful to save us unpacking bits.
We stayed here for one night as a stopover. Room was immaculately clean and quiet. A delicious dinner cooked and served by the owner. 😁 Secure parking Thank you

maybe an improvement on the guest supplies but that is being picky
lovely lounge, kitchen and dining area. the host was very welcoming and a great example of to run a hospitality business. he even provided a very tasty dinner when he asked if I had eaten.

Not a very pretty outlook, limited outdoor space. But convenient for access to Route A10.

We received a very nice welcome and explanation of the room and facilities. It was surprisingly peaceful considering its proximity to the busy motorway. We opted to eat at the property, and the meal was excellent. Car parking was secure it the very pretty courtyard.

Beautiful bedroom with exceptionally good heating, essential in January, very comfortable bed and tv. The ensuite is well planned. The central shared area is spacious and very well equipped.Hosts couldn't be more helpful. Several restaurants and takeaways within easy walking distance.Evening meals by arrangement. Easy reach of the motorway. I will definitely be staying here again.
