How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewSimply excellent in every respect. Good value. Very clean rooms. Exceptionally helpful staff.
The notes need to add that the height limit of the underground parking is 2m. I had a roof box so, at 2.4m, had to park on street. Also just now there are road works on a 1 way street. No short stay on street parking to unload. The sign for the car park needs to be larger.

Under-staffed - poor team running round as was so busy. No air con in the room - it was 38c when we got there - room was like a furnace and no fans left! We had two children with us who couldn't sleep

Verified reviewBedroom windows only had electric shutters and faced o to the main walkway, so there was no way to have the shutter open but also have privacy in the room - if you had it open everyone could walk past and look straight in at you.

Verified reviewThis is a sleek, economical hotel: all the essentials for comfort, not a gram more. Every square inch is optimized for efficiency.
The breakfast buffet was disappointing — mostly bread and sweets, items ran out quickly and weren’t replenished. Also, with only one person handling reception, bar, phone, and breakfast, it often felt understaffed and inefficient.

Verified reviewGood location, easy to get to by car (parking is free on surrounding roads), clean rooms, good shower, sociable atmosphere (even had a tattoo studio in the foyer!)
Party every evening on the roof terrace until midnight, very loud music and heavy bass so you can’t escape it, ok for us for a night but not every night. Bathroom was very small, couldn’t turn around if the door is closed, but shower was good. Nice views from the room

Verified reviewGood breakfast, not intercontinental as sponsored. Clean
The staff was not very communicative. More than 50% didn't speak English and were not making any effort to help us in the restaurant. Only when we had arrived on that day were they informed that a party was being hosted on the patio. It was very difficult to sleep, there was a lot of noise during the night with some guests, they started to fight (probably they're drunk after the 8h party). Also, there is no AC in the rooms, and it was too hot.

Verified reviewThe most positive aspect is the staff, who handled any concerns we had to the best of their ability, they were polite and attempted to help resolve all issues/answer our questions - that said, I feel I have to mention that during our stay, an unknown member of the staff (possibly from housekeeping) used a key card to enter our room one afternoon without knocking or identifying themselves while we were resting in the room. When we told reception, they said they'd "take care of it;" we felt like what this staff member did was completely unacceptable at any hotel, at any time, so do with that information what you will and if you stay here, make sure you remember to deadbolt the door.
(I am writing in English but my husband is French and he communicated with the staff entirely in French while we were here.) Most importantly, do not stay here in the summer - the room was dangerously, swelteringly hot, and it was the worst at night. If you're on the side of the hotel with the terrace/train tracks, you have to choose between leaving the window open and listening to the sounds from outside all day/night long, or overheating to the point that I think it will cause someone to have a heat stroke someday, and even then opening the window really does not make as much of a difference in the temperature as it should. The staff did give us a fan for the duration of our stay without making us pay a deposit but we had to know to ask for it and it really only did so much to help. On the terrace side of the building, the window opens directly to the outdoor hallway, so if you leave the shade and window open to try to beat the heat, theoretically anyone can just walk by and look in or even reach in. (The key card holder that you have to use to activate the lights in the room is easily within arms reach through the window if the shade and window are open). Less important but still not great: any time anyone near us closed the door, it shook our room so violently that it would wake us up or startle us, and even the doors closing two floors down on the terrace level for the outdoor seating would shake our room enough that it got annoying as people constantly went in and out from reception to the terrace. The room is also abysmally small for two people; you cannot leave your suitcase open without blocking the door since there's nowhere else that's big enough (there is a "desk" awkwardly jammed in a corner taking up a lot of space), and there's no dresser/closet to put any clothes. Also not ideal was the presence of at least one small cockroach in the room which I discovered crawling on me in middle of the night..!

Verified reviewNice private beds, great for a group trip to Clermont. We went hiking nearby, so the proximity to the bus station was very useful to get to our location. Also a nice communal area, with board games and foosball.
Bedroom was very warm at night.
