How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The location is in the suburbs, which we preferred as we were staying with a dog, but you need to be ready to use your car to get into city for restaurant and shopping. Can get stuck in rush hour.
Modern, clean, spacious rooms with modern bathroom. Comfortable beds, very good breakfast. We enjoyed a glass of vine and beer on a terrace behind the hotel. Quiet suburban location. Very helpful and nice staff. Fenced parking lot with EV chargers. Good location to visit Normandy beaches.

The hotel car park was full so we had to park in a public car park which we did not expect. There was strong AC in our room and a heavy very hot duvet. We would have preferred no AC and a sheet and light cover. There was only one regular tea bag in our room and a ghastly array of herbal teas and no regular tea bags for breakfast.
It was clean and took late arrivals. Breakfast was good although there were no regular tea bags which was surprising as this hotel must cater to ferry arrivals from UK.

Breakfast was ok but not for much choice for Vegan / Vegetarian but never is abroad, rooms are a little small but wasn’t a problem
Perfect hotel for a short break to explore Normandy, staff are fantastic especially Lindsay, nothing is too much for them and so helpful, great parking and really great Pizzeria next door,

Because the ferry leaves so early and because we had found it difficult to locate the hotel the night before, we did not have time to linger over breakfast.

View was of carpark, but that’s what you get in an urban location!
Travelled as family of 4 with 2 teenage sons, so booked 2 rooms. We were pleasantly surprised that the rooms inter-connected. Breakfast was fine too.

Difficult to find. Dinner possibilities very restricted. basically only pizza nearby or drive elsewhere. Noisy road nearby (did not disturb too much).

Location quite difficult to find on outskirts of Caen. Breakfast OK rather than really good. Why not better quality orange juice , unsweetened?

This is a very qualitative hotel located in a quiet and nice neighbourhood. The room is very clean, cozy and we slept wonderful! There's a large parking, with electric chargers as well. The breakfast was good quality too, with croissants, ham, cheese, butter, yogurt, cereals, fruits and drinks. The personnel is friendly and polite. We chose this hotel to be close to Caen Memorial.

Look, it's on the edge of town on an industrial estate. It's nearly new. It is what is is and was prefect for a late arrival on the car ferry from Portsmouth. All perfectly clean and acceptable and you know what you're going to get. Staff were lovely.
