Nothing was wrong as far as hostels go but I should have paid heed to a review I read about mosquitoes. Do take insect repellent for the night.

It’s a good hostel and very well run. We weren’t expecting fabulous facilities and we were not disappointed. Everything thing is clean, however, and both staff and other customers were friendly and helpful.

Could improve Wi-Fi

Like my memory of youth hostels when I was a child. A feeling of community and a relaxed holiday vibe in a space right next to centre of town. We only stayed one night - brought our own towels and had a quiet sleep. My kids who have only known paces like Premier Inn were horrified at first at sharing communal showers and wash facilities but admitted by the time we left it was a cool place.

The floors are incredibly creaky and it literally sounds like people in the corridor are walking across your room. Not much to be done though, other than ear plugs next time.

Family next door was loud and had children running back and forth late into the night. Not the fault of the property at all, but noise carries well at this location, so you may want to bring earplugs.

We booked a family room with bathroom but there was no toilet in the bathroom (you had to walk down a very long corridor to get to one) and no mention of this fact when we booked.

Somehow I misread that there were no bathrooms in the rooms when I made the booking. The beds were incredibly uncomfortable. Internet didn't work at all. Thin walls, you can hear people in neighbouring rooms snoring all night. Also garbage under the beds from previous people. And very hot at night. But hey, it's cheap.

Parking was easy and the location is very convenient. The staff were very nice and helpful.

It was advertised as having parking when this wasn't actually the case. Plenty of local car parks, but not always easy to tell is you needed to pay or how long you could stay.

Lovely atmospheric building. Friendly and helpful staff. Easy to find your way around and meet others staying. Fantastic breakfast. Easy walking distance to town centre. Our room had ensuite facilities and a separate room for the double bed from the single beds. Also good outdoor space for our son to run off some energy!

Like most hostels communal toilets and shower which were very clean breakfast could be better.

An elegant building now a type of hostel large rooms very close to the cathedral and bayeux tapestry. Also I could park my motorcycle in a secure courtyard.

The gate was locked when we arrived, we called but no answer, we messaged but no one came to let us in, in the end we had to take the kids for food before checking in 3 hours later. The room was fine buy the bathroom didnt have a toilet. And we were eaten by mosquitoes very badly due to having to have the windows open as it was so hot.

Great value, it's a hostel so as long as that is what you expect, you won't be at all disappoointed at this price point. A lot cleaner than many hotels I have stayed in over the years as well........

Really great hostel in a historical building which is very close to Bayeux town centre. Very welcoming, clean, tidy an historically interesting by itself. I'd stay here again.

Unfortunately we had noisy people in the next room and the creaky floorboards and heavy doors, opening and closing, kept waking one of us but not others. Pack ear plugs?

The setting if the hotel is great, we loved that the former school character has been conserved. Super good value for money accomodation, staff was kind and helpful and breakfast great.
