Walking distance to the center of town and there’s parking nearby. The grounds are nice and facilities were very clean. I had a private room with my family and it was spacious.

The room would get very warm throughout the day and their was little air circulation so it was warm at slightly uncomfortable throughout the night. I highly suggest getting fans for the rooms. There was one outlet for the entire room which was inconvenient for plugging in devices. The biggest annoyance was the mosquitoes. Also price wise it wasn’t as cost effective as I thought. You have to pay a membership fee too which didn’t make sense.

The building is historically fascinating and right in the centre of town. It’s excellent value and a wonderful experience to stay at such a remarkable place.

It’s a good hostel and very well run. We weren’t expecting fabulous facilities and we were not disappointed. Everything thing is clean, however, and both staff and other customers were friendly and helpful.

Nothing was wrong as far as hostels go but I should have paid heed to a review I read about mosquitoes. Do take insect repellent for the night.

Inexpensive and quite charming staying in a nearly 200 ye old school

A few very heavy footed hostel guests. But that's not the fault of the hosts.

Like my memory of youth hostels when I was a child. A feeling of community and a relaxed holiday vibe in a space right next to centre of town. We only stayed one night - brought our own towels and had a quiet sleep. My kids who have only known paces like Premier Inn were horrified at first at sharing communal showers and wash facilities but admitted by the time we left it was a cool place.

Could improve Wi-Fi

Brilliant location, basic but clean and comfortable accomodation, good continental breakfast which was reasonably priced.

The toilet and shower facilities were basic and on different floors

- Spacious and quiet common areas - Relatively close to the city's main attractions - Staff did their best to explain to me how things work

- The dorm rooms should have 3 beds given their size, but they actually have 4. This makes them cramped and hard to sleep in. It's difficult to move around without bothering others, and sleeping 30 centimetres away from strangers on both sides of your shoulders feels somewhat weird - The Wi-fi pretty much doesn't work at all except for when you're no farther than 2 metres from the reception - No lavabos on the ground floor (there are toilets, but you have to take the stairs to the first floor to wash your hands once you're done, a bit absurd)

Location couldn’t be better. Building is beautiful and staff extremely welcoming.

The floors are incredibly creaky and it literally sounds like people in the corridor are walking across your room. Not much to be done though, other than ear plugs next time.

Clean, plenty of washroom facilities, lockers in rooms, spacious outdoor and indoor social areas, canopy to park my motorbike! beautiful 18th century building.

The “feel of the place”, the staff, history, location to the centre of Bayeux and it was good value for the family room for the five of us.

No bedside lights. Only one socket near the door (with extension lead) to charge phones.
