Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe owner was sat outside with his staff , as I walked in he looked am sat there , I didn’t realise he was the owner at first. Until I was waiting in reception for a while and so I rang the bell on the desk , fully loaded with my motorbike gear on , when he appeared and said can I help . The same guy sat outside, my opinion them was not happy. Then we had a meal at night, our phone rang as we were awaiting an urgent call regarding our sister who was in having emergency heart surgery, for the owner to come up and shhhh us I was livid and refused to spend any more money at his property
The address on booking.com is incorrect so struggled at first to find

United KingdomFred is a very amiable host who has created a lovely hotel. It is just outside one of the Roman gates of Autun near the river Arroux. There is a charming garden to sit in with a water feature. You can have supper in the garden. I recommend the hotel: very relaxing.

Everything!!! This was a hidden gem, not originally on our agenda and a last minute booking. Wonderful bucolic location, French shabby chic, such a friendly hospitable owner with perfect English and the food we had for the evening meal was worthy of a Michelin star ⭐. We liked the area so much that we are definitely planning a return visit. Autun town is charming and the Roman amphitheatre and cathedral well worth a visit.

United KingdomBeing told I'd only booked 3 rooms, when I'd booked 5. Breakfast was limited to 1 croissant each and a baguette. I didn't see any of the usual meats, fruit yoghurt etc. The road it's on has a gap in it. You need to approach front the Roman wall porteuille not from the temple of Janus side.
Plenty of space, a bar and restaurant on site.

A lovely old water mill converted to a modern hostellerie with excellent facilities without losing any of its charm. Our host Fred was generous, attentive and very friendly at the same time being thoroughly professional; he really could not do enough to be welcoming. The restaurant was also excellent in every way with very high quality cuisine and nice wines, breakfast was also very good. The location was perfect to explore the charming ancient town of Autun and its surroundings which we also highly recommend..

Lovely characterful property, charming host who spoke perfect English if needed. No vegetarian option on the menu, but the chef said no problem and made up an amazing dish specifically for me which was amazing! Local people use the restaurant which says a lot. Safe parking in garage for motorcycles and bicycles, and off road private parking for cars. Very quiet for perfect nights sleep - comfortable bed. Very fair pricing - will certainly stay again!

United KingdomNot much at all. Maybe the house wine could have been better for the price. I would have liked a vegetarian option for the evening meal but as a flexitarian I really enjoyed the food anyway.
A fabulous hotel in a great, very quiet location just outside of Autun. The welcome from the owner, who speaks excellent English, made us feel at home from the start. Breakfast was excellent and very relaxed in a lovely dining room. We also took our evening meals there. Overall great value!

The location was idyllic - like being in the countryside but only 10 minutes' walk into Autun. And a few minutes to the Temple across fields by the stream. Beautiful and welcoming. We were given a lovely spacious room. Excellent dinner in the lovely garden which was perfectly cooked and extraordinarily good value!

Cosy small-scale hotel.. just outside Autun. With a dedicated and friendly owner. Gave personal attention (in a good way ). Speaks English. Friendly staff. The renovated room was spacious. It had nice views over garden and city of Autun. The room was simple but tastefully decorated. Bathroom fine. Kitchen not always open! The owner called ahead to tell this so i could anticipate on it. The days the kitchen was open, the food was creative, very tasteful, made with high quality products. Nice garden to sit in. Ample parking.
