Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

MoroccoWe booked a triple room, but it was very small — once three people were inside, there was hardly any space to move. This made us quite uncomfortable, and under normal circumstances, I wouldn't consider staying at this hotel again. However, the kindness of the reception staff and especially the sincere support from Usama from the technical team made us feel truly at home. Their helpfulness is the main reason I would consider returning. One suggestion: the reception staff should warn guests who arrive by car about the kind of incident we experienced — it could really help prevent future problems.
The hotel staff were excellent. Their warm welcome and sincere attitude made us feel very comfortable. Special thanks to Usama from the technical team, who cleaned up the broken glass and brought the necessary materials to help us. The quick response of the reception in contacting the police was also reassuring. I would also like to point out: if your car does not have a European license plate, I do not recommend parking it on the street overnight in Lyon. Our car’s window was smashed and there was an attempted theft. It’s quite possible to wake up and find your belongings stolen. Still, thank you for everything.

AustraliaI chose the hotel because the ad said it was 10 minutes walk to the train station which is what we required, HOWEVER it was not made clear that it was close to Lyon Perrache station rather than the main one, which is Lyon Part-Dieu, which was the one we needed for our retrun train to Paris. This was at least 35 minutes away by car and resulted in us incurring two hefty taxi fares; one when we returned the car on arrival to Lyon at Gare Part Dieu and also on the day of departure. I think it should be made very clear that is is NOT CLOSE to the principal train station, only a secondary one.
The room was basic as expected for Ibis budget but rather small. In fact, much smaller than previous stays at Ibis Budgets throughout France, so that we barely fitted in with our 2 suitcases and it was very difficult to move around the bed. The breakfast was very good and the staff were very friendly and helpful. They called to pre-book a taxi for us.

HungaryThe room was a little bit noisy because the ventillation was running the whole night. We didn't hear that noise in another room 2 weeks ago.
Staff is as friendly as was 2 weeks ago. 🙂Location is still very good and the room was small but clean and practical.

United Kingdom1. Beware! They take 100 euros deposit for any potential damage to the room and return it only two weeks later! Bizarre or what? 2. Perhaps the breakfast waitress should pay a little more attention to her customers and less to gossiping with the cook! 3. Weird 'cage' instead of bedside table, making it likely that belongings will fall through.

HungaryIf you open the window, the room is noisy but has a good sound isolation. Actually, I cannot say anything negative. Some guests were noisy during the night but it's not the hotel's fault.
Big 10 for the staff! They were very friendly, helpful and speak English. We booked the room for two nights with breakfast but unfortunately missed our bus so arrived a half day later. Breakfast is there only till 10 a.m. but we could have ours before check-in. They even baked some fresh croissants for us 5 minutes before 10! The room was small but practical, had everything we needed.

SingaporeOn the last day, the cleaner opened the door of my room without my permission. I can understand how would the cleaner know that I am inside the room, I should have put a do not disturb sign infront of my door. I felt that reception should have made me aware of this thing at the time of check-in. I didn't know I have to put the do not disturb sign infront of my room otherwise I may face this. For me it's just the last day because rest of the days I was out very early. The stay was very nice, it's just a minor issue I faced. It's just a suggestion may be on which they can improve.
(i) They clean your room everyday. (ii) They fix the issues related to the room then and there. Supose your light is not working they will come to your room with you and fix it if possible or try to change your room. (iii) All the staffs speak good English. So it was easier for me to communicate.

Malaysia1. We lodge a complaint saying that the air conditioning is not working but they keep on saying there’s 3 of us. Mind you, we pay for 3 pax amount - it’s not like the 3rd person is staying for free. If your room is not ready for 3 person - don’t sell it or open it up for booking. 2. We request for an upgrade Or change of room with working air conditioning unit, we don’t mind paying it extra at all. NO SOLUTION THROUGHOUT OUR STAY IN THIS HOTEL. 3. I request for an at least a mini fan as our room is like an oven - there’s no FAN at all. Will never comeback here as they do not put the guest comfort as their priority. Their concept of business is just giving you a space to sleep, not considering the condition or the environment of it.
Nothing at all

Germany...I’m very sensitive to noise while sleeping and could hear everything – guests arriving and leaving, people talking right outside our door. I immediately asked for a different room, preferably farther from the elevator. Despite my early request, we were assigned a room on the 5th floor with a window facing the busy street and highway. The situation was more than unpleasant: we couldn't open the window due to the extreme traffic noise, and at night we felt like we were suffocating. The room was so tiny that I had to walk sideways between the bed and the wall. There was no space for our suitcases, no wardrobe. We had to push our small suitcases under the bed. The next morning, I stood at the reception with swollen eyes, determined not to stay in that room another night. (The bathroom deserves a mention – it was so small that, when sitting on the toilet, your legs had to stretch out into the hallway...) We were then offered a different room on the 3rd floor – again right in front of the elevator, but at least with a window facing the garden. It was somewhat quieter, but still not ideal. The window was open, but guests were sitting and smoking at the tables below early in the morning, and the smoke came right into our room. Other downsides: no hairdryer, no wardrobe, no space to store suitcases, only two coat hooks – overall, very small and impractical. It might be okay for a one-night stay, but we had to stay five nights. Breakfast was included, but we didn’t know we weren’t allowed to eat in the restaurant. When I took a plate with scrambled eggs and bacon, I was told I couldn’t eat there. No explanation or offer to pay for it – I was simply asked to leave the plate. Instead, we we were told to eat behind a door. What was offered there was extremely poor: white bread, jam, two types of cheese, and some ham. No greens – no salad, no vegetables! Nothing fresh!
Not Worth the Stay – Tiny Room, Loud, Poor Breakfast - READ DOWN! We are extremely dissatisfied and will definitely not return. Six months before our arrival, when I booked the room, I explicitly requested a quiet room – away from the elevator and not facing the street. Unfortunately, we were given the exact opposite: a room directly in front of the elevator.... The only positive things: the room was clean and the staff was friendly.

United KingdomThe rooms are very small, the space between the wall and the bed is very tight. The walls are very thin and I could hear the very loud TV of the neighbours until 11.30pm which makes it impossible to sleep. I booked a family bedroom but got a double room instead without any other explanation than all the family rooms were given already…
