How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The lack of an elevator makes it difficult sometimes to climb the stairs with suitcases. The only improvements I could think of were having our own appliances in our room like an iron, kettle or cups to drink

Verified reviewWe booked a room for the weekend of July 18–20. The room was clean and nicely decorated, but it had no air conditioning—just a small desk fan plugged in, which wasn’t enough for the heat. It was uncomfortably hot inside. On the night of the 18th, we returned from visiting Paris around 1:20 AM, only to find the hotel’s entrance doors locked. To our surprise, the hotel did not provide magnetic key cards to open the main doors. The only key we had was a traditional metal key for our room. We rang the doorbell several times, but no one answered. We could see the reception area through the glass doors, but there was no one at the desk. The hotel is located in a wooded area, and it was very dark outside—none of the exterior lights were on, not even the ones attached to the building. We rang the bell and called the hotel phone number repeatedly for almost half an hour, but only got a pre-recorded message. Eventually, a man appeared from behind the reception area and opened the door. It was clear from his eyes that he had been sleeping. We were already upset. When we asked why the doors were locked with no staff available to open them, he (Jeremy) told us that he had every right to close the doors at night for security reasons. He was not apologetic—in fact, he was arrogant about it. But if that’s the case, why wasn’t he at the reception to open the door for guests returning late or checking in? We were two women alone in the dark, outside the hotel, while he was asleep and not doing his job. On the night of the 19th, we returned from a wedding celebration. This time, the doors were open—but again, no staff was visible in the hotel. Another guest was having an issue with their room key, and we waited with them in the lobby. Jeremy eventually showed up from behind the reception desk about 10 minutes later, again looking like he had just woken up. I would never return to this hotel.

Regarding the air conditioning: our hotel has never been equipped with air conditioning, and this is not advertised anywhere online. To help ensure guest comfort during warmer months, we have placed a fan in each room. Additionally, the hotel is located within a private, green estate, surrounded by trees and a forest just behind the building. This natural setting generally helps to keep the ambient temperature lower and offers a refreshing atmosphere, especially in the evenings. We understand that the heat may still have been uncomfortable during your stay, and we regret that this impacted your experience. As for the situation on the night of July 18th, please allow us to clarify: Jérémie, our night receptionist, was not asleep. He was in the kitchen located directly behind the reception area, preparing the breakfast buffet for the following morning, a task that is part of his nightly duties. We understand that his absence from the front desk may have caused concern, and we sincerely apologize for the confusion and distress this may have caused. We have since reviewed our procedures to ensure better visibility and responsiveness from our night staff, and we are committed to improving communication and guest support at all hours. - Room could have been cleaner in some locations. - Room was quite basic, low quality but functioned. - Location doesn't have any food options for dinner and hotel is limited in what it offers. However they allowed me to eat UberEats in bar area.

Verified reviewGreat value and location when enroute near Paris. The hotel is near a quiet park and sport area, although very close to the motorway, its really quiet. Breakfast was buffet style but plenty to choose from, and the staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Would definitely stay again if in area. Great location for visiting Versailles
Evening meal food was pizza/pasta but it was heated up from frozen, so better to go elsewhere if you can for dinner.
