How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewA simply perfect stay at B&B Nathalie. The warm welcome, kindness, availability, and attentiveness of Nathalie truly make the difference – you immediately feel at home. Her house is beautiful, full of charm and history, with great attention to detail and a warm, authentic atmosphere. Breakfast is excellent, prepared with high-quality ingredients and great care. The location is ideal: right in the heart of Bayeux’s historic center, perfect for exploring the town on foot and for visiting the major D-Day sites in the region. And Bayeux itself is a wonderful town – elegant, welcoming, rich in history and full of picturesque corners. I highly recommend this B&B to anyone looking for an authentic and memorable experience in Normandy.

Verified reviewEverything was perfect. Nathalie is a wonderful host and could not have done more for us. The property is beautifully restored and so comfortable. We had to leave very early on our last morning so Nathalie left a pre prepared breakfast for us to take away, which made a huge difference to us and we enjoyed enormously.

Verified reviewNathalie was a fantastic host. She communicated well, assisted us with recommendations in the area, and even packed us a takeaway breakfast for a very early departure time. The B&B is in a fantastic location, opposite a park and a leisurely walk to all attractions in town. We would highly recommend this accommodation.

Verified reviewAn absolutely charming B&B, located within easy walking distance of the tourist centre of Bayeux - and of course the Tapestry (500 metres). Nathalie's renovations of the 4 B&B rooms provide modern comfort without losing the historic charm of this 1800s building. Spacious rooms, clean bathrooms, warm personal welcome, ample breakfasts. Street parking on the Place Charlese de Gaulle is free but rare, so once you park, explore Bayeux on foot or bike. Normandy Landing Tour microbuses pick you up at the front door.
A room safe for personal computer and valuables would be a good addition. The establishment is very secure but having an in-room safe adds reassurance in today's world.

Verified reviewThe quiet location is perfect & the building is beautiful. The bed was very comfortable. There was lots on offer for breakfast & our host Nathalie was extremely friendly & attentive.
The top room (ours) was up 3 flights of stairs which may not suit some people (no lift). Also the bathroom was curtained off from the bedroom (no door)

Verified reviewNathalie is a wonderful host. The guesthouse is nicely decorated, the rooms large and with comfortable bed and shower. The breakfast was delicious with coffee/tea, breads and jams, cheese, cereals, fruit, and homemade eggs and yogurt! She was very kind and helped when we arrived late due to plane strikes. She had great suggestions for Normandy D-day sites, and museum and cathedral in Bayeux, and places to eat.

Verified reviewClose to town and across from the park! We loved sitting at the table with the windows fully open in the evening enjoying a glass of wine! Bed was very comfortable as well!!
A little challenging to find parking but we lucked out with parking outside Nathalie’s!! Once we parked, we walked everywhere and did the Band of Brother’s D-Day tour and the meeting place was just a 10-min walk! Nathalie’s breakfast was first class!!

Verified reviewWe stayed for 4 nights, Bayeux is great location to tour Normandy and Mont St Michel, Nathalie’s property and our room were charming, our room was very spacious and comfortable as was the bathroom. Nathalie’s home is a beautiful older home in a great location, it’s was an easy walk to restaurants and the town center. Breakfast was wonderful, fresh croissants, bread and fruit with eggs made to order and we got to meet other quests at the common breakfast table. We had a rental car and found street parking pretty easily.
There are stairs but this is to be expected in an older home, not a biggie for us but something to be aware of..

Verified reviewB&B Nathalie is a great B&B, an excellent value for the money. The building, rooms and decor are charming and welcoming, which is a reflection of the owner herself. Nathalie was very responsive and flexible pre-arrival, and she could not have been more delightful and helpful throughout my stay. My room was lovely and very comfortable, and the breakfast excellent. The location is outstanding, an easy walk to all the main attractions in Bayeux, but adjacent to a a park with unlimited free parking. If ever I return to Bayeux, I will stay at B&B Nathalie.

Verified reviewNatalie provided large floor fans to help keep rooms cool as France was going through a heat wave , it really helped.
Some variety in the croissant such as pain au raisin would be nice, but otherwise it is a nice breakfast .we appreciate the eggs cooked to order , and the fruit salad .
