Nothing to dislike about it, although air conditioning in the room might be a good idea. End of July can be very hot these days.

I enjoyed the informality of it and warm welcome. The room was very clean with an enormous and extremely comfortable bed. Nice view across to the mountains opposite. The dinner was excellent and they weren’t thrown by my requirement of a pescatarian meal in a very meat eating part of the world.

L’Ôberge was quite far from the Highway, but we were very pleased we made the detour. The drive was scenic and the location tranquil. There were only three rooms, two with a shared bathroom. But the beds were comfortable. The staff was friendly. The highlight of our stay was dinner at the delightful restaurant. It’s open only Friday-Sunday, so try to time your stay for then, because the food is delicious. On Sunday night, the small place was packed with locals—entrecôte, brochettes, and sausages cooked over the coals in the fireplace seemed to be the most popular, but we loved our charcuterie plate, salade gasconne, and especially a local specialty of fried small trout, all washed down with local wines. All in all, a memorable stay.
