Only one small issue, could do with better pillows, there was only one rather lumpy pillow each. However given our overall experience this was easily forgiven.

A warm welcome and friendly throughout. The room and bathroom were modern and extremely clean. Had a couple of afternoon drinks, the first in the garden. Evening meal was fantastic and extremely good value for money. We would love to return. Looks to be a well used meeting place for the friendly locals as well. Town Wi-Fi works well. Surprised that it had a lift as only in 2 floors but great for taking cases upstairs or for those with limited mobility.

We stayed here en route to our destination further south. It was a great choice! We had a lovely dinner when we arrived and were warmly greeted by Fabrice and his team. Our room was spotless key clean with everything you would need and air conditioned too which was a huge bonus on a very hot day. Our dinner was excellent! Lovely breakfast the following morning too. Would highly recommend.

Fabrice and his sister were fabulous hosts, very helpful and friendly. We enjoyed a great evening meal ( spit roast pig) with entertainment thrown in . Our family room was probably the biggest we have ever stayed in . All was exceptionally clean and looked new. The small village was quiet and immaculate. It well worth the short deviation from the A10. If we could rate our stay higher than 10 we would. Thankyou Fabrice and team. X

From the listing I couldn’t see why l’Escale got such high review scores. Now I can! Friendly, welcoming host; clean, well-presented rooms; attention to detail throughout. And the food in the restaurant was outstanding.

Bright and modern rooms and fittings with a great bar and restaurant. It says no WiFi but actually you just use the free village WiFi which I have to say performed better than most places we have stayed in the last two weeks.

We booked a family room as we had our dog with us and wanted a bit more space. It was 100% the correct decision! Fabrice, the owner met us on arrival. He is very friendly and speaks English which was great as our French is not so good. The room was more like a studio with seating and a table. We chose to eat in our room and the food (which was excellent) was brought to us. We chilled out watching Netflix with a beer (or 2) from the bar after a long day travelling. The air con was a bonus!! The village location was so peaceful and picturesque we would have loved to stay longer :-)

It's the best place I've stayed at in a while! The menu was simple but outstanding as it was made so well, with the best tortilla outside of spain... maybe better than Spains 😅 The room was closer to an apartment, and the outside seating was spot on to relax after a long drive. The village is quiet, but you don't need much more with everything you can get at the hotel. The owner is great, and I'd recommend the place to anyone. Thanks very much!

Tea and coffee in the room would have been the icing on the cake. However, water is provided which was very welcomed.
