Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsWe got engaged at the hotel, and while they organised the room as requested (at a cost) my fiancée would have liked more recognition from the hotel staff. No one congratulated us.
The suite was perfect, had all amenities. Big comfy beds, great showers. The food at Le Cenacle was great. As was breakfast in the room.

SingaporeHousekeeping did not replace one of towels. Cleanliness can be improved.
Overall, very courteous, friendly, and helpful staff. The decor was nice. Cleanliness can be improved. Looking to dine at the restaurant when it receives its Michelin Star. It has a private car park and this is a Plus.

CanadaI’m sure they know but the shower in our small room did leak a lot. We had to put our shower towels on the floor after we had showers. No big deal for us as of course they replaced when making up the room.
Great location, easy walking distance to many shops and squares and restaurants

United KingdomBreakfast was mid. Lovely orange juice but limited selection of food overall. Ordered an omelette and it took 20 mins and then had wrong filling. No cheese, v limited pastries. Had to chase the staff for coffee. Room was lovely with lots of comfy leather armchairs though.
Room was v spacious and absolutely lovely. Whole hotel beautifully appointed. Used the small gym which was good. Very attentive front desk staff. Location nice - could walk to places easily.

PortugalOur son and daughter in law booked this hotel as a Xmas treat for us.The main reason being that a Spa was in the hotel, but it was not open because it was Monday. Perhaps if the closure of the Spa on certain days was made clear when the hotel is booked, they would of booked days when it was open.
We didn't have breakfast or an evening meal the night before as the restaurant was closed. The spa was closed because it was a Monday when we arrived. Because the hotel is so well located we were a short walk to plenty of bars and restaurants, which meant that we had some enjoyment.

New ZealandAir conditioning turned off at office, heated towel rail disconnected from service, both not good enough when your comfort is controlled from the office and you need to ask to get both working, this is supposed to be a five star hotel not a two star, you needed to be very careful stepping over the side of the bath when using the shower, not good for older folk like ourselves, breakfast was adequate but very slow and poor service from the kitchen, over 40 minutes to get two soft boiled eggs that ended up hard with only two other people in the restaurant
Its location suited us fine

United KingdomThe room lock malfunctioned and locked me out. Had to wait a couple of hours for someone to fix the door lock and let me into the room, not great as it was 11pm and I had to leave at 4am for the airport. Staff were very apologetic and it looked like they were rushing around trying to fix it but still very inconvenient. I asked them to waive the parking fee for the inconvenience which was refused - disappointing. Street noise from drunken people walking past comes through loudly so bring ear plugs!
Nice hotel in great location. Nice steam room.

United KingdomStaff went above and beyond to make our last-minute stay after a flight cancellation stress-free and pleasant. Front of house were so friendly. They had also arranged a travel cot for our room (without us having to ask) so we could put our one year old straight to sleep when we arrived, and offered us complimentary late check out. These little touches were really appreciated. The breakfast was expensive but delicious - the best cappuccino we had during our 2 weeks in France!

United KingdomThe decor was a bit depressing if I’m honest and it just didn’t feel five star. The room service food was really good - especially the bouef Bourguignon- but including a bottle of wine and two mozzarella salads it came to 130 euros which I thought was very steep for what it was.
Clean, and the receptionist kindly upgraded us to a bigger room. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Breakfast good.

SpainNo air con and the room was super warm which was very unpleasant - apparently the city rules say they can't turn it on at this time of year. and the room was damp smelling because of a big damp / humidity issue in the bathroom which we pointed out.
Great bar staff - brilliant cocktails. Good breakfast.
