How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewPerfect little family owned hotel in a central, yet quiet location. Characterful, warm and artsy. I loved the old building with hardwood floors. The owners are very kind and attentive. Perfect Savoyard hospitality.
Dear Madam, Thank you so much for your kind words! We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed the character and charm of our old house, especially the wooden floors and peaceful, central location. It means a lot to us that you felt the warmth and hospitality we strive to offer. We truly enjoyed having you here and hope to welcome you back soon to La Féline Blanche! Anne-Cécile

Our twin room had no door on the bathroom - not great for a non-couple sharing

Verified reviewQuirky, family run hotel in a central position. Welcoming and helpful, old and creaky building with bags of character. Clean & comfortable rooms. Fresh & tasty breakfast. Free, covered parking 200m away.
Old and pretty steep stairs and no lift to 3 floors above. Not an issue for us but maybe avoid if you have mobility issues.
Dear Guest, Thank you very much for your kind and detailed review. We’re delighted that you enjoyed the charm and character of our hotel, as well as its central location. It’s wonderful to hear that you appreciated the warm welcome, the comfort and cleanliness of the rooms, and our fresh and tasty breakfast. We’re also glad you found the nearby covered parking convenient. Thank you as well for mentioning the stairs. Indeed, as our building is historic, there is no elevator, and the stairs can be quite steep. We always do our best to assist guests with their luggage and we appreciate you pointing this out for future travelers. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you again on your next visit! Best regards, Anne-Cécile

Verified reviewLocation and staff were great.
Very very small rooms. No possibility to buy a snack or bottle of water or soft drink in the hotel. The hotel staff leaves at 7 PM.
Dear Sir, We do thank you for your grade and comment. You get a confort room, they are 150sq ft which is the average room size in France. Our other rooms types are bigger. We do not serve snack or drinks on the evening as people usually go in the city center wich is just in front of the hotel. Moreover, there is a supermarket 2 minutes walking. Indeed, the staff leave at 07Pm, but you can reach us by whatsapp or by mail at anytime. Best regards Anne-Cécile Gayraud

Verified reviewLocation was nice, kind staff, and charming hotel and place to stay.
Because the building is old, any time people walk around the noise is quite loud.
Dear madam, We do thank you for your grade and comment. We chose to keep the original wooden floor and stairwell. the building, emblematic of Saint Gervais, dates from 1880. This has certain disadvantages but gives it all its charm of yesteryear. Looking forward to welcoming you again. Anne-Cécile

Verified reviewLovely old hotel with lots of character. Bathroom was recently refurbished and it was lovely - there was a door, not a curtain as listed on Booking.com. Anne- Cecile and her family work very hard to make your stay perfect. Restaurant recommendations and bookings, taxi, train and bus information all given. Very good English spoken. Communication is excellent and the hotel is perfectly placed in the town with everything walkable, including the Bettex, although there is a free bus circulating the village to the Bettex telecabine every 15 minutes. Would recommend La Feline Blanche as a great place to stay. We would definitely return here again.
Nothing not to like here really. Our personal preference would be to have a small bar in the hotel although there are plenty in the town.
Dear Madam, We do thank you for your very nice comment and top grade. It has been a pleasure welcoming you. Looking forward seeing yo again. Anne-Cécile Gayraud

Verified reviewWhat a find! Great place couldn’t be more central Loved the books Lego & LPs. Anne is so lovely. Very close to the free Carpark and free electric shuttle bus plus great restaurants nearby.
Carrying our bags up the creaky stairs to the top floor- but they added charm and character.
Dear Guest, Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re delighted that you enjoyed your stay and appreciated our central location — it’s true, it doesn’t get more central than this! We’re so glad you liked the Lego books, the vinyl records, and the unique atmosphere of the house. Your kind words about Anne mean a lot to us as well — she will be very touched! It’s great to hear that you found the nearby free parking, the electric shuttle, and the local restaurants convenient. And thank you for mentioning the stairs — we know they can be a little creaky, but we’re happy you saw them as part of the charm and character of the building. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you again in the future! Warm regards, Anne-Cécile

Verified reviewIt beautiful and very well located hotel.
Wifi not the best. No milk for breakfast.
Dear Madam, Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment and a rating. Indeed, Saint Gervais les Bains is not yet connected to fiber and this has an impact on the village's internet network, particularly in the event of bad weather like during your stay. I'm sorry that this bothered you. As for the milk, ham, cheese, home made yogurt, like all our fresh, local and organic products, it is kept cool and served on demand. I apologize for not offering you one or for you asking me for one. Kind regards, Anne-Cécile Gayraud

Verified reviewI stayed here overnight so I could travel on the Mont Blanc Express railway and it was well suited for that. The hotel is located in the centre of town and is near several restaurants. There is a bus service (#Y82 or #Y84) from nearby (stop 'Pont') to the rail station. The room was small but comfortable and the hotel has a seperate guest entrance with keypad access. The owners were very friendly and helpful.
This is an older building that has no elevator. Bus service from the station is infrequent and the taxi service is almost nonexistent, despite a board listing about 10 companies that offered it.

Creaky floors and there was no fan in the room for a hot day.
