Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaThe neighborhood is ok, but one night the cafe next door played very loud music until late in the night and it was difficult to sleep.
Easy communication. George was very kind and helpful, and gave us many tips to make the most out of our stay. The room was beautiful and clean and the breakfast was great.

A lovely room, that was beautifully done. It had everything you needed. Lovely comfortable bed, coffee machine, spacious room. Really good location too. It was very easy to get to the centre and nice bars 10 minutes walk away. Georges was very welcoming and gave us really helpful information about Bordeaux. I would definitely recommend this place.

United StatesThe noise from the street was a little loud from street-side room on this Saturday night (eh oui, Bordeaux won the rugby match)! It felt safe to walk with others through the neighborhood at night.
Great location to the center of town, beautiful rooms, comfortable beds, very nice shower & bath. Exceptionally gracious host who gave us a very warm welcome with wonderful suggestions for sight-seeing & restaurants.

CanadaA mini-fridge in the room would be nice…
The property is hidden behind a door that does not reveal anything about it, but when you enter, it’s a beautifully restored and tastefully decorated interior; a nice hideaway. Location is in a funky part of Bordeaux - low rent, so culturally diverse, lots of university students, self-serve automatic laundries, and more barber shops and hair salons than you can shake a stick at - but fun, interesting, and easy walking distance from the train station, main market (des Capucins), lively Place de la Victoire with its bars and students, and the start of rue St. Catherine, and beyond. Breakfast is great, brought to your room, so you can eat at your own little table in solitude. Ingredients all first rate. In-room coffee maker makes great coffee.

Charming, 300 year old guest house, beautifully decorated, safe, pristinely clean, close to the city’s largest market (a must see), and a mile from city center and the water. Georges, the host, was gracious, available, and gave us an excellent itinerary of what to see and do in the city.

Georges is a wonderful and helpful host and assisted us with luggage, taxi, sight seeing, and restaurants. His home is beautiful, quiet, clean, and relaxing. Although it was only for one night in transit to Paris, I wish we could have stayed longer. Everything is of the highest quality and Georges was a very professional, knowledgeable, and super friendly host.

United KingdomIt might have undermined the glorious ambience of my room, but I would have welcomed a small fridge.
The rooms were decorated with an amazing amount of flair and style. They were enormous compared to many places in which I have stayed. What made our stay even more enjoyable was our host, George, who was so charming and helpful that we really wanted to stay longer. We were not able to enjoy the famous breakfast as I had an early flight, but this gives us an excellent reason to return. I recommend La Parenthèses des Capucins unreservedly.
