How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.

Verified reviewThe house is beautiful. Everything was very clean. Towels and bath robes supplied. Fans and an air conditioning unit as well (the weather was very hot). The pool was lovely and cleaned daily. The owner lives next door and was exceptionally helpful. He did some washing for us and helped us locate a wallet we had lost in a different part of France.
Just one small point. A bit more kitchen equipment would have been helpful. The knives were not very good.

Verified reviewWe rented the entire house at La Source and it was so beautiful and peaceful. The bedrooms each have an en-suite and are very luxurious. The kitchen is beautiful and has everything you might need. Outdoors there were many options for places to sit and the children loved the pool. The hosts were very welcoming and available if needed but the space was also very private. I hope we can come again!

Verified reviewThe room was tastefully decorated and the bathroom was clean.
We are used to much better hospitality and more generosity of hosts in similar B&Bs. We asked for an extra blanket and they were reluctant to give one (and eventually did not give one), and towels/blankets are not cleaned or the room in general even though we stayed there for three nights. The breakfast is really basic and not tasty (comes across as a bit cheap), and always the same. We asked for one coffee, and they said they would charge us extra money for it. We would not recommend this stay; there are much better options out there that reflect the proper French hospitality. Extreme low value for money!
Thanks you for your review. When you arrived, you asked for an extra flat sheet for the bed, it was given to you immediately. During the reception, we inform you that if you want the household to be done in the room, and without any extra charge. You could ask us every morning. During your stay, you never wanted to do so. Sheets and towels, we change it when necessary and during long stays. You wanted an espresso in the afternoon while there is a courtesy tray with tea, herbal tea and coffee available to guests. Obviously, during breakfasts, espresso and other drinks are at will, in the afternoon, such as sodas or alcohol, it is a bar service so it is normal that it is charged as indicated in the booklet of your room. Coffee, 5 kinds of organic tea, hot chocolate, orange juice, bread, butter, jams, pastries, cereals, organic yogurt, fruits, scrambled eggs, boiled, fried or omelette, ham and cheese. , hot chocolate, orange juice, bread, butter, jams, pastries, cereals, organic yogurt, fruits, scrambled eggs, boiled, fried or omelette, ham and cheese. The Source was a tranquil haven in a beautiful area of France with great facilities to allow us to relax by the pool after a hot day of sightseeing. The breakfast choice was outstanding offering fruit ,cereal and cooked options to prepare you for the day . We will return

Verified reviewThis lovely B&B is in a very tranquil location, very close to the beautiful villages of the Dordogne. It has a very nice pool area with a view of the surrounding hills and a beautiful garden. The rooms are decorated with taste and ours opened up to a cosy communal living room. Breakfast is very good! These gentlemen are obviously very proud of what they have accomplished here and rightly so! The price-quality of our stay was ridiculously good.
Nothing really, the beds are good but the matresses are quite firm - whether or not you will find that a plus or minus is and will always be a matter of personal preference.

Verified reviewWe loved it all! Clean, comfortable room with a great lounge area, comfy beds and excellent breakfast in the company of the best hosts you could wish to have. There was nothing that we could have asked for better than what we experienced and it was such a shame that on our days there we could not take advantage of the table d'hôte offered on some evenings as we were sure it would have been equally fantastic. We were accommodated in the guest house on the opposite side of the courtyard to the dining area and it was so good there. We wanted for nothing. We will 100% be back there again.
It is very rare that we would rate anywhere 100% but this is as near as we could possibly get ...99% Just don`t ask us what the 1% was that we disliked... we cannot even think now what it might have been.
