How beautifully restored Alison’s house is with its decor and furnishings throughout making it a homely, warm and cosy stay. Alison is extremely welcoming and a fabulous chef! Both dinner and breakfast were wonderfully prepared and delicious.

Alison was extraordinary. Her warmth and hospitality far exceeded expectations. She helped us plan our 4 day stay. She is also a fabulous artist and her artwork is dotted around the premises.

Le 31 is about a 20 minute walk from the train station. The house is a beautifully restored place with exceptionally well detailed and decorated rooms. There’s pristine bathrooms and a nice patio to relax in during your stay. The host takes pride and care ensuring your stay is comfortable and memorable. The breakfast provided each morning was varied to suit all tastes and hit the spot each time. There’s a few good restaurants in walking distance. My stay was great. Very memorable.

This is one of the absolute cleanest properties I have ever stayed in, hotels included! Our room was cozy, the bed very comfortable, a true King size! Loved especially the spacious bathroom, awesome shower! There was no air conditioning in our first floor suite but the room stayed naturally VERY cool, even during a 35C heat wave. (A fan is provided but we only used it once.) Alison is a dedicated host, highly responsive as well as proactive. Her homemade breakfast spread is a delight—it is petit dejuener style with fromage/charcuterie. (Alison’s dinners are also reasonably priced and delicious!) The B&B is ideally located, close to everything! Free parking was a nice bonus, though sometimes you have to play the hunting game for a spot. Highly recommended!

Not really anything. I can see if the weather is really hot that the room would not be as comfortable because there is no real air conditioning. But that is something that you should expect if you pick to stay in a historical home near a historical center.

Allison is the owner of this lovely B & B. She is very responsive and accommodating and really goes out of her way to make sure your stay is as nice as possible. Her breakfast is amazing as she bakes her own bread and croissants and they are great.....not like mine ;) The location is great with free parking nearby and walkable to all the restaurants and shopping in town. Allison has great advice on the best places to eat in town and what to do in the surrounding areas of the Loire Valley!

Perfectly situated near the centre of Amboise. Our bedroom was very pleasant with first class en suite. Alison cooked us a lovely meal on our first night there, which was great value for money. The breakfast was the star of the show, home cooked bread, pastries, fresh juice & coffee, the full works, a perfect start to the day.

Alison prepared a delicious assortment of homemade breakfast pastries and tarts, cheeses and meats, cereal, and more, all absolutely delicious. The table setting was beautiful and suited the lovely renovated historic home. The conversation around the table was always interesting, and Alison is a welcoming host. The location was perfect for walking everywhere or driving to castles. Ambroise is a beautiful village in an excellent location for visiting the Loire area of France. Highly recommend this AirB&B.

Absolutely nothing.

10 stars are not enough to describe how excellent our stay was. The moment we checked in our luck began to improve as we had been robbed in Paris and the wonderful host Alison helped us in many ways to help us get our situation resolved. She is a caring and very knowledgeable person who assisted us in so many ways. She is an excellent chef as well and the dinner and breakfast she prepared for us was delicious and special and at a better price than anything close to the same quality in town. Cleanliness was above board, comfort excellent, and Alison's attention to detail was perfect. Thank you Alison and Le 31 B&B!!

Alison, the owner, was wonderful and very knowledgeable about the area and sites to see. The breakfasts were handmade using local and regional ingredients. Fresh, warm from the oven, croissants and breads, local meat and cheeses, fresh fruit and homemade jams and fruit compote were all delicious. The bed and pillows were divine. Nice sitting room upstairs with hot pot to make tea in the evening. Very cozy and welcoming home. The town was very walkable and fun to explore. We enjoyed Chateau de Clos Luce. Lots of street parking close to the B & B.

There is absolutely nothing to dislike !!

Everything !!!!! Exceptional in every way. Fantastic host, fantastic location, everything had been thought out for both guests and room facilities. So many extras. Beautiful property. Top notch bedrooms and beds. Warm rooms. Excellent breakfast, so much choice everything homebaked and fresh. Just exquisite. What a fantastic place to stay. Right in the centre of historic and beautiful Amboise. We will certainly visit Alison again. She goes above and beyond.

Alison was a wonderful hostess. She was friendly and cooked a lovely evening g meal for us on our first night there. Breakfast was excellent with several choices, from pastries to meats and cheese.

Everything was fantastic except our room did have a little bit of road noise, so we had to sleep with closed windows, which isn’t our preference. We were in the only room that faces the street, so if noise is an issue for you too, just book any room except the yellow room.

This is a very charming and comfortable town home that is just a short stroll to the main square in Amboise and the two chateaux. There is also plenty of free parking nearby. Alison is a great host, very interesting to talk to, and a wonderful cook as well. (Definitely take her up on dinner if she offers it.)

It was better than we imagined. We were greeted like family and our host was absolutely amazing. The food, the hospitality, the entire experience being immersed in the French culture. Alison went above and beyond with home made croissants, breads and a Michelin star dinner complete with wine and dessert. Truly memorable…everything! Do not miss this opportunity to visit Le 31 🇫🇷

Alison is the consummate hostess! Warm, friendly and helpful planning your visit to the Amboise region. Breakfast was exceptional- fresh juice, home baked bread and pastries and a selection of delicious local produce. We were lucky enough to get on well with our fellow guests and all had a memorable three course meal cooked by Alison on the last night. Highly recommended.
