Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

The hospitality was beyond expectations, lovely rustic room , very spacious, equipped with everything you needed. The beds were comfortable with quality bed sheets, my children loved the upstairs bedroom! The modern shower added style to our stay .The garden was such a joy to spend your evening after a day out! We enjoyed our breakfast with organic(bio) products all locally sourced!

The toilet is on the ground floor while the bedroom (double bed) is upstairs - an inconvenient arrangement if you have to get up in the middle of the night!
The accommodation is in very good condition with free parking on site. We did not take breakfast and brought our own food for dinner as we knew there were no restaurants in the immediate vicinity and didn't want to drive out to find something. The location was convenient for an overnight stay on the way to the ferry.

The apartment was great, clean and everything you need, even for cooking which I did not need for 1 night stay. Lovely shower and super fresh French style breakfast ideal stop over for my family.

Nothing,! would like to stay longer and explore the local area, as only passed through on a stop over.
We paid 10 Euro per person for breakfast All fresh, jams, Chesse, yogurt coffee and juice. The owner recommended The Petit Bistro for our evening meal, and even booked it for us. Great local restaurant! The accommodation was everything we expected, everything for self catering, spotlessly clean, and the owners really nice. It was an extremely hot day 32 degrees, and the owners did warn us the bedroom would be hot, and it was! They did provide a fan.

there was nothing that we did not like
We were very well looked after by our wonderful host. The facilities were comfortable, and parking was available on-site. We enjoyed a nice breakfast in the dining room. It’s a beautiful place to stay, and if we visit the area again, we will definitely stay at Le Bien-Venant.

We didn’t stay for long but it seemed to be quite far away from any amenities.
Beautiful buildings. Good space with toddler. Great stop over between the Netherlands and France. Small kitchen so we could make so dinner.

Le Bien-Venant is a lovely B&B in an ideal spot for exploring the Somme Valley. The facilities are good and immaculately clean. My rooms were well-equipped. The host family is delightful and breakfast's ingredients included some lovely home-made touches.

Lack of outside lighting. Difficult to find restaurant although some rooms had microwave etc

Nothing needed to be better. I wish we could have stayed longer, so that we could have explored the area. Unfortunately, it was just an overnight, before catching the ferry the next day.
The rooms we stayed in were lovely. Sadly, we were only staying one night, but we could have happily stayed for many nights. There was plenty of space for the 4 of us, everything was clean and tidy and comfortable. The renovations that have been done to this old farmhouse are beautiful and to a high standard. The decor and finish is lovely. I liked the lighting and the subtle bird theme. The breakfast was good and presented so nicely - real attention to detail, even down to the way the little jam spoons were lined up! The host was very friendly, and we enjoyed chatting for a while.

It was all amazing!
What an amazing place! Each room is furnished to a high standard and has more than you need. Amazing hosts who are SO friendly and helpful. Wonderful grounds, and a beautifully restored large farm house and surrounding property. Peaceful, quiet and so so lovely. And an amazing breakfast provided and pointers to local restaurants and shops for other meals.
