Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

The host was very welcoming. Was told by booking.com that we could have a room on the ground floor but the host emailed to say this was wrong. However he had a small self contained chalet in the garden which he let us have even though he had closed it. Very nice breakfast and extremely clean. Cannot recommend enough. Will return as soon as possible!!!

United KingdomWe brought the comfy chairs inside to watch the olympics so we had everything we needed.
We chose the cabin as my partner has trouble with stairs so this was a great option for us. It was easy to find and we enjoyed the freedom to come and go as we pleased. The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed including a full sized fridge.

NetherlandsWe didn't want to leave :-)
I rarely hand out a 10/10, but in the case of "Le Cardinal" I will make an exception. Host was super friendly, and speaks several languages. Enjoys going the extra mile and has a good knowledge of the Normandy Region. Access and parking was very good, premises was clean and garden well maintained. Room was very cosy and homely, and above all very clean and well maintained. Beds were comfortable and not too soft. Wifi access was complimentary and sufficient in speed and availability (expect no modern day wonders), though 4G coverage via cell phone is excellent in the area. Towels were fresh and provided twice during our stay of 3 nights. Breakfast choices were good and fresh. There's a bakery/patisserie across the street, if you want a sandwich or something sweet on your day out. Also plenty of choices of local farmers produce within a radius of 3km from Le Cardinal.

NetherlandsThe isolation of the room is not the greatest. You can hear doors slamming and people talking in the hallway but that's the only dislike.
A very nice B&B in a small village. The host was very kind and the room was cosy (not too big but big enough) and clean. The shower had good water pressure which was really nice. Breakfast was simple but tasty! It's close to Deauville and also a good driving distance from Honfleur.

SpainCautionary Note: Deceptive Ratings by Alleged French Champion On the 30th of August 2023, we attempted to reside at this establishment which purports to be a hotel. Regrettably, our experience was far from satisfactory and prompts us to question the authenticity of its ratings. Upon arrival, we noted that despite the presence of only one vehicle in the parking area, there were already three glowing reviews on Booking.com. It becomes evident that a dissonance exists between these reviews and the actual state of affairs. A cursory examination of these reviews unveils a common thread—most of them center around the owner rather than the amenities and condition of the premises. Further scrutiny across diverse travel resources reveals that the most recent reviews are confined to the year 2020. Upon interaction, the owner's demeanor was far from professional; his attire appeared unkempt, and his behavior lacked the courtesy one would expect from a proprietor. Furthermore, we observed the owner's spouse engaged in drying laundry at the entrance, thereby contributing to a less-than-favorable impression. The purported "reception desk" is spatially intertwined with an unclean breakfast room, characterized by a diminutive 'buffet' table predominantly occupied by an antiquated microwave oven. The ambiance is augmented by plastic black-and-white tablecloths and metal chairs. The accommodations themselves are conspicuously cramped, featuring undersized bathrooms and toilets. Notably absent were basic amenities such as cups, glasses, a teapot, and drinking water. The bed linens and towels exhibited a marked lack of quality. This establishment, rather than meriting the designation of a hotel, more closely resembles a hostel or inn. It is situated along a road in a remote village devoid of dining establishments.
