Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Very central. Booked a garden room which was well worth the cost as had an area to sit out. Our bedroom was spacious and very comfortable. The staff were excellent, nothing was too much trouble and our housekeeper, Stephanie was lovely- she made our trip!

United KingdomIn the toilet there is no hand basin, this could easily be remedied by having a cistern with a built in hand washing facility on top. ,a cheap and easy fix.
Lovely room with a separate shower and toilet, quite spacious and a nice view over the courtyard. The restaurant is outstanding, some of the best food I have had, they have 2 set 3 course menus , one for €29 and one for €36 both are excellent. Location is right on the heart of Coulon, lots of restaurants, bars ice cream etc, boat hire is a 3 minute walk away. We took one out for 3 hours which was plenty of time to see the canals and wildlife. The hotel is very dog friendly with our dogs welcomed in both the restaurant and the breakfast room. Breakfast was excellent and good value.

United KingdomThere was nothing we didn't like! Great hotel, well run, excellent food and friendly service, well located in the town and as a stop over en route to or from St Malo of any where in France for that matter!
We arrived out of season en route to catching a ferry to the UK out of St Malo. We had three pets with us. The owners contacted us to let us know that the restaurant would be closed as it was a Monday that we were due to stay in the hotel and offered us a meal. We were on the road for over 7 hours and delighted to be informed about the closure and offered the meal. The reception was truly wonderful on arrival - friendly and informative and very welcoming. The meal was simply outstanding - 3 courses of gorumet exceptional deliciousness! We were given a quiet room much needed as our pets were travel weary and we were treated extremely kindly. What was not to like about this lovely establishment. Location wise the hotel is in the centre of the village and close to many other restaurants, quaint shops and a gorgeous patisserie - but it should be noted many were closed as it was not in season. We were able to take our dogs for a lovely long walk through the streets and along the river for a good while and we could see how it could be a popular destination in the warmer months - quaint and beautiful.

United KingdomWe were in one one of the suites in the grounds, the bathroom was very dated and cold as the heater didn't work, these studios would be better for summer use. The owner said they are having them completely refurbed in March which will be a great improvement.
The main hotel was really lovely, and we had a good meal in the restaurant. Breakfast was more than adequate.

FranceNothing to dislike!!
We like the traditional ambience of this hotel in such an attractive village, situated in unusual countryside made up of a network of canals. A place which is geared up for tourists with some good shops and restaurants. We have stayed here frequently and as their excellent hotel restaurant was closed on Mondays the helpful receptionist recommended Le Gourmande ( best meal of our holiday!) Delightful conservatory for the good hotel breakfast! Ample free private parking.

This is a beautiful hotel. We had a large, spotlessly clean room. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food was amazing. The hotel has secure parking. We will definitely come back!! We traveled with our two dogs who were welcomed into the hotel and the restaurant. Coulon itself is fantastic for dogs.

Cosy atmosphere, friendly staff, comfortable room and good food. Our third visit. This time we came in December and stayed in room 23 which is a garden annexe room. It was lovely and warm despite freezing temperatures outside. In summer the air conditioning was very welcome and effective.

We had a one night stay as a stopover en route for the south of France. However we were fascinated by the Marais Poitevin, and the hotel is an excellent base to explore it, so we hope to be back. The room was spacious and comfortable with all necessary extras, and evening meal a real surprise with gourmet cooking but still really good value. Thoroughly recommended. We hope to come back to the area in the future for a longer stay and will book into this hotel if there is a space.

United KingdomBy mistake, the hotel had booked us in for the following day, but, after checking for other accommodation in Coulon, they put us up in a lovely room in their own nearby house. They couldn’t have done more to make up for their mistake. Full marks for concern for their guests. And a fabulous breakfast the next morning!
