Tania was an excellent host, she met us on arrival at the property, she was so helpful and friendly. The location of the apartment couldn't have been better and was walking distance to lots of lovely restaurants, shops and the market on Thursday. The apartment was very comfortable, clean and well appointed. It has absolutely amazing views of the fort and of the Vienne, we very much enjoyed looking at the river from our terrace. We will definitely be going back to stay here, and would highly recommend it!

Fantastic apartment in our beloved Chinon - so clean, modern, spacious and comfortable. Location is brilliant, great views at the castle and the river. Public parking is just at the door. Communication was great, easy self check-in. We loved everything and will come back!

The Charles VII is a set of well-designed and constructed apartments in a gracious and very large and handsome old stone residence right on the river Vienne (a tributary of the Loire). The very gracious owners live in the main part of the building and the apartments are in a connected annex on 3 levels. We were on the middle level. Access is off the main street (Quai Charles VII) by a left turn (when driving toward the center of town) on the Rue del la Poterne and then a immediate left turn on the Rue Beaurepaire. There is available parking in a garage across that small lane. The owners met us there and gave us the keys to the electric gate and the front and apartment doors. Our strong impression was that this was a safe and secure area. The owners offered advice and support and answered our questions by text messages whenever we sent one. The middle level apartment has a patio as part of the massive stone structure from which there is an expansive view of the vast Forteresse Royale in one direction and the tree-lined river in the other. The kitchen is fully equipped including a freezer and a modern stove and refrigerator, the bath is excellent, and the living room and bedrooms very comfortable. The owners very thoughtfully provided treats exemplifying the local cuisine. In cool weather the heat can be controlled in each area and there is presumably AC in the warmer months. We were there in October.

the 15 euros for bike storage. we have cycled over 700 miles in France on our trip and this is the first we were required to pay a fee for bike storage. we’ve stayed at over 20 other apartments/hotels

Excellent, welcoming hosts. Clean, modern and comfortable apartment including dishwasher and washing machine with soap tablets provided. Private and secure off-street parking. Really central location

No prior information about the unusual stairs or connecting bedrooms, not a problem for us but might be for other guests. Accommodation would be improved by a Fire Blanket in the kitchen and an evacuation plan.

Location, access to parking, easy check in, views and proximity to town centre, nice terrace, would like to have stayed longer.

Probably mostly due to an issue I had with my mobile phone but communication around getting access to apartment was problematic, when I arrived there wasn't a doorbell or intercom to contact the host , so had to bang and rattle the gate to get their attention , after tiring trip on motorbike ride from ferry didn't get me off on the best start ,particularly after I had been in touch a few days before asking for details of how to get in but was told this would be sent on day of arrival , considering payment had already been made for the accomodation I don't understand the reticence to provide me details when I initially enquired , over reliance on digital technology I think. Strongly recommend at the very least fixing the intercom or bell on the gate , also a bit tricky trying to get key box code to leave key in when leaving ,though this largely an issue I had with my mobile phone network provider.

Great spot in a lovely setting , very well appointed apartment nicely decorated with great outside space to sit out in, host was very helpful and friendly.
