Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

BrazilThis chateau is absolutely gorgeous! The room was spacious, beautifully decorated, and super clean. It was also well equipped with a smart TV with streaming apps, coffee machine, fluffy bath robes, and toiletries. The hosts Frank and Inez are super nice people, who made us feel very welcome and gave us lovely recommendations for places to eat in the area (and even helped us maks reservations). In the morning we were served a delicious breakfast with local breads, cheeses, jams, fresh fruits, and eggs. I highly recommend staying at this lovely castle.

United KingdomTrying to find the Chateau was a challenge. Details from Booking.com about the precise location would be welcome.
This is an amzing property in the process of renovation. The decor is being carefully thought out and is impressive. The room was huge with coffee making facilities and a great bathroom. Windows on two aspects of the room made it light and airy. The breakfast was well thought out and very fresh and nothing was too much trouble. We will need to return to check on the progress of the renocations.

United KingdomI dislike conventional hotels, so this was perfect. Tucked away in the countryside, we did have a bit trouble finding it as there is no signage. The family who own the property were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was exceptional, with daily fresh artisan breads and pastries we got to sample some delicious cheeses, some I had never tried before.

NetherlandsOnly thing we didn’t like, is that we didn’t book it for longer.
We had the most unforgettable night at Château d’Elbeuf-en-Bray during our little getaway to France. The chateau is lovingly owned and run by Franck and Ines — and their lovely children and their Dalmatian dog, who welcomed us like old friends. You can feel that this place is a labor of love. They bought the château a few years ago and are slowly restoring it with so much care and attention to detail, making sure every guest can enjoy its calm, slow charm. The suite we stayed in was straight out of a fairytale — grand and romantic, with breathtaking views from tall windows, a huge bed with crisp linen, and a mattress so comfortable we instantly fell asleep. Even the radiators and faucets felt special — everything is chosen with intention, from a tiny Christofle butter knife to soft, luxurious towels and bathrobes that many 5-star hotels could learn from. Franck kindly lent us rain boots so we could explore the grounds (and they are stunning!). In the morning, they both served us a cozy and beautifully presented breakfast — with fresh bread, pastries, jams, local cheeses, and as an extra treat, Ines offered to prepare eggs or warm French toast herself. They also shared stories about the history of the château and even showed us an old map of the area — you can tell they truly love this place and want others to feel the magic too. We honestly have never met such generous and welcoming hosts — warm, genuine, full of heart. This was truly a dream stay, and we’re already planning to come back. Don’t hesitate — this place is one of a kind.

ChinaOur stay at Le Château d’Elbeuf-en-Bray was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Frank and his lovely family, whose kindness and hospitality made us feel completely at home in this beautiful and historic château. The surroundings are breathtaking — a perfect blend of charm, tranquility, and elegance. Every corner of the property is thoughtfully maintained, reflecting both the heritage of the château and the care of its gracious hosts. One of the absolute highlights was the delicious breakfast, which exceeded all expectations. Beautifully presented and made with fresh, high-quality local ingredients, it was a true pleasure to start each day with such a generous and lovingly prepared meal. Our time here was filled with warmth, peace, and unforgettable moments. We couldn’t have asked for a more delightful stay, and we are deeply grateful to Frank and his family for making our experience so special. We wholeheartedly recommend Le Château d’Elbeuf-en-Bray and hope to return again soon.

Denmark1. The description of my booking is false. There are several photos of the kitchen in my booking and the description says that “the guests will find kitchenware, refrigerator and a stovetop in a very well equipped kitchen”. We found all that, but the kitchen was part of the host’s apartment, not the rooms we booked. The host allowed us to use it, when they were done with their dinner. Huge disappointment when you pay 350 euro per night and come with a bag of groceries and 2 hungry kids. 2. The design is ridiculous and uncomfortable - no wardrobe for the clothes, no shelves to put your stuff at, you take a bath next to tables and chairs, which are ment for outdoor use, but are inside somehow, you sleep next to a coffemachine and a working refrigerator. There are photos of manhattan hanging as decor in a room, which is supposed to be a chateau. 3. Breakfast was a disappointment - not a single fruit or vegetable, only bread, cheese and yogurt.
