Maybe we were expecting the room to be a bit more comfortable ( the room for the kids did not have a window and one bed was not made correctly : one bedsheet was missing . Our perception of “the value for money”got a bit affected when we saw the room (empire of Armany” if I remember well) . However , considering the period (14th 15th Aug) and the outdoor facility , the garden , the kindness of the staff, the price probably makes sense , especially as the electric charger came as a bonus!

We liked the pool, the ping pong, the pétanque , the darts, the garden , the electric charger, the breakfast , the old authentic building, the kindness and cheerfulness of the staff and of the owner

There is no AC as stated on Booking. Com but there were fans in the room so it wasn’t uncomfortable- but the AC should be removed on the site.

It is very charming. Liesette and Eva were excellent at taking care of us. The breakfast , lunch and dinner were all excellent!

There isn’t anything not to like

A very beautiful place, very quiet and relaxing with loads of period charm a lot of effort has gone in to make this place special and it shows. The owners were awesome very friendly and made the stay extra special.

Breakfast was not as good as expected. Basic. No yogurt for example.

Very nice property, beautiful rooms, well furnished, spacious and comfortable. Beautiful grounds, nice swimming pool and even a pétanque field ! Amazing staff, welcoming and warm.

Nothing, we are completely happy

We had an amazing stay in Chateaux d'Orleix. I was travelling with my 93 year old mom and they went out of their way to help and make us comfortable. They even changed her room to a downstairs one to avoid the stairs for her. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast amazing and very fresh, the croissants are yummy. The facilities, both in the room and outside are great. Nice pool with enough chairs and parasols, barbecue area, games like darts and jeu de boules. Everything very clean and well-maintained. Location is a bit remote in a small village, so car is recommended to visit all the beauty in the surroundings like The Pyrenees, Lourdes, Tarbes and so on. We were very lucky to see all the 14 Juillet celebrations and to visit the concert of Andrea Bocelli in Lourdes. We had an amazing time and cherish the memories. Thank you all staff at Chateau d'Orleix for making our stay unforgettable.

Château d'Orleix is a beautifully renovated old building full of character and charm that was very comfortable and clean for our stay. Both the room and bathroom were very spacious and well equipped. The owner was very welcoming and helpful at all times.

Some features in the room were marmite. We had a round bed (which made sitting in bed to watch tv difficult), window shutters that needed renovation etc. But these also added to the character of the place.

We had dinner and breakfast. Patrick and Lisette were very accommodating, both over dinner (we arrived late and they quickly cooked a meal for us) and during breakfast. Lovely hosts.

I arrived to be told that it would be "very difficult" to have dinner before 8 pm, which I thought was rather late. I was the only guest.

Even though the hotel advertises a sauna, etc. these facilities were not offered to us. We were given a tiny room on the top floor which was dark and tatty, even though we appeared to be the only guests. Most of the overhead lights didn't work, and there was peeling paintwork. It was cold until we turned on the radiators. We had requested dinner on the booking form but the patron said he couldn't use the internet and we should have rung in advance. We had specially chosen the hotel because a review said the dinner was good. We were offered a ham sandwich. We were thoroughly disappointed by the whole experience and although we have requested a refund, the hotel has not replied. We would have left as soon as we saw the room, but we were tired after driving all day.

The hotel is well located for an overnight stop from Spain to France. The bathroom was spacious but cold until we turned on the towel rail heater.

Patric is an amazing host. He cares so much for his guests and has a warm inviting smile. It’s so cool to stay in a proper chateau in France!
