Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IrelandLack of restaurant choice in the town. We arrived on a Sunday evening and there was only one restaurant open which was fully booked.
Lovely hotel with good old fashioned service.

United KingdomNo big deal but a kettle for tea/coffee in the room would be nice, and access to a fridge.
This is a great little hotel run by a friendly gentleman who was most helpful. The room was a very good size (ground floor, accessible) with a very comfortable big bed and an excellent shower. The breakfast room and terrace are charming. It's very good value, immaculately clean and is a super location for cycling to and from Bourges along the Berry Canal (all flat, scenic cycle path). The local restaurant by the town clock gate is also great and the medieval town has a lovely park.

We had three rooms, all a good size with everything you needed for an overnight stay. Excellent modern bathrooms, with large shower, decent towels and hairdryer. The french buffet breakfast was plentiful. Free parking next door. Lovely garden and castle ruin in the village to explore.

BelgiumNothing, everything was OK
This small and family-owned hotel can certainly be recommended. The rooms are comfortable, with good quality beds and a well-equipped bathroom. Very quiet at night. The owners are very friendly and helpful, and make you feel welcome in a personal way. A simple, but good breakfast in the morning can be enjoyed at the terrace in case of nice weather. Parking lot is just adjacent to the hotel, a good restaurant (Café de l'Horloge) is in walking distance

United KingdomWe arrived on a Monday when the restaurants were all closed. There was the option of a simple dinner in the hotel, reasonably priced and delivered to our table. Breakfast was simple but sufficient. All the staff were lovely, welcoming and helpful.

FranceShort on local eateries, only one « restaurant » required advance booking but accepted us exceptionally, although afterwards we would have preferred they had not.

FranceWe were not impressed with the breakfast as it’s very basic and didn’t think it could live up to its price.
The staff were helpful. The property was well maintained. The room was clean. The bed was comfortable and bed linen was fresh. The location is close to A71. Parking is just next to the building and secure.

United KingdomDon’t stay there on a Sunday unless you want to have to drive 25 mins to indifferent restaurants on an industrial estate on the outside of Bourges. Everything in town shut.
Nice historic small town close to the motorway. Good location next to car park. Quiet. Very comfortable and clean, newly decorated.

United KingdomMehun sur Yevre is an attractive town with lots of history - but it felt dead. Many shops and premises were empty and "A Vendre" (for sale).
Convenient stop-over in simple, clean room. Excellent breakfast and friendly, attentive staff. The option of pizzas and "jar meals" provided a welcome alternative to eating out in the evening.

FranceOn a Sunday there are no restaurants open in the town. The owners do a kind of ready meal in a glass container or pizzas which was helpful. The owner was very kind, but we had to have our breakfast by 9am in order to clear the room for some event which was taking place which was a little early for us when on holiday. On arrival our reception could have been a little friendlier, and I think it would be nicer to check if we lived in France before giving us a form to complete for aliens, we both have lived in France for many years and I have dual nationality.
Very clean comfortable rooms, easy to park, good breakfast, peaceful. In the old part of Mehun with nice walks close by. Help with carrying baggage upstairs much appreciated. Have stayed before, pleasant stop over

GermanyNothing to complain about.
We had a fine and large room, and we admired that handicapped people were also welcome and that the hotel was designed accordingly. Quite frankly, we had never heard about Mehun-sur-Yèvre before, so we were amazed by its old town, its castle and in particular the fine park divided by the multiple branches of the river. An arboretum belonging to the hotel extends the Park. So both the hotel and the town were a very pleasant surprise.

Everything was excellent. The family who run the hotel are charming, our room was large, well furnished and clean, and the hotel was perfectly located for a first night,s stay after driving from Caen. Also, the owners kindly agreed to keep my car in their private, and secure, courtyard overnight, free of charge.
