How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Verified reviewVery friendly staff. Perfect location very close to train stations but also to the nice squares in town centre. Room is comfortable and clean with tea making facilities. I LOVED the tea bags provided - in fact that was a main reason for rebooking... Remember to leave your key at reception each time you come and go, but the staff were very friendly and prompt so I never had to rate. Would stay again :)
Soundproofing is not good - noises from adjacent rooms, corridors are loud. My first stay I had a back room looking out over a small roof. Wouldn't want to have the window open due to cooking smells and not very photogenic but there was no street noise. Second stay, had a nice view out front which I preferred, but the street does stay noisy (as you might expect in a town centre) until late. Strong chlorine smell in bathroom after showering was a bit odd. Probably that is the town water and not hotel's fault.

The lack of Air Conditioning made the room exceptionally uncomfortable, and attracted a horde of Mosquitoes. I left the window open on the first two nights, but found on the second evening that this had attracted a number of them into the room. I spent a great deal of time in the early hours trying to catch them (around 20 in total), and I did not get sleeping until around 4am. I closed the window so as to stop others from getting in, but this caused the heat in the room to intensify even more. After mentioning it to reception the following morning, I was informed that there was a small plug-in light on my desk which could be used to deter the mosquitoes. I don’t think this would have made much of a difference though, given the scale of the numbers

Verified reviewThe location is hard to beat, situated only a few hundred meters from the train station. The room was small, but well planned enough and suited us just fine. It seemed recently re-furbished and the bathroom especially was very fresh and clean. Comfortable bed with good pillows. The breakfast was what you could expect in France, which to my experience is coffee and different kinds of bread. Everything was very fresh though and the buffet was nice and welcoming.
The lack of AC in the room was at times a slight discomfort although the fan did help. A mini fridge to keep drinks cool would have been a nice touch.

We stayed during the Tour de France and their was a markup on the room. But, to be fair, everyone else hiked up the prices on their rooms as well and this was the cheapest deal in town. Location is a block and I mean, literally a block, from the train station. Reminded me of being in Times Square, NY. Despite this, we had no safety issues or concerns. Tons of restaurants to choose from, right outside the door. Parking offsite about a block away.

The room floor was not clean - we found ear protectors below the bad, as well as cut nails. The bathroom is really small, and there is water all over the place after taking a shower. We were there in the middle of a heat wave and it was very difficult to sleep, because we needed to sleep with windows opened and it was very loud outside, even during late hours and in the first hours of the morning.

The rooms were very small especially the bathroom and with no air conditioning it was uncomfortable trying to sleep. Very little space for our luggage.
