Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SwitzerlandMore attention could be paid to cleanliness in public areas: the tables on the terrace,as in the lounge, could be wiped more often. The remains of a swallow’s nest, with a broken egg, was lying outside the bathroom window. This is nature and a bit sad, but I as guest shouldn’t have to think about it. I would have appreciated shampoo in the bathroom. The relaxed and friendly atmosphere is fantastic, but I’m not a fan of fixing my own breakfast while in a hotel and also felt that the lack of variety on the buffet is a pity. It would take very little to raise the level here greatly.
The mill lies on an island and is surrounded by water, peace and serenity. The garden is perfect for relaxing and the view of the little harbor is sublime. The whole atmosphere is casual and relaxed without sacrificing comfort. The room was large and well-appointed, with one of the best mattresses I’ve ever slept on, and the bedding was excellent. The bathroom was generous-sized with high quality fixtures. On the whole, the investments made here create a house that has the potential to please highly discerning guests.

AustraliaNothing - perfect.
The property is located within a picturesque park and riverine estate. Secure parking is located within the property. Our room was very spacious, quiet and clean, while the bed was very comfortable. The room also included a fantastic view of the surrounding countryside. The hosts were very friendly, efficient and community-minded. The breakfasts were substantial and included freshly baked pastries and bread. This is an impressive property and is highly recommended.

United KingdomOnce we found the property there was nothing not to like. The room was incredibly spacious and the fixtures and fittings were of an incredibly good quality. My stay was only overnight, but it would be an excellent base. Unfortunately the weather meant no walks along the canal.

United StatesIt's not the fault of the establishment, of course, but we think we were the only overnight guests. That gave the stay a certain quiet feel. We didn't mind, but those craving jolly company in the morning would have been disappointed.
The staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly. They greeted us for our later arrival with an invitation to eat at the restaurant and have a drink with other visitors. We immediately felt comfortable and grateful for the kind reception. The room itself was very spacious and nicely decorated with a modern flair (though the building is quite historic). And the breakfast was fantastic, with lots of choices of beautiful food.

BelgiumThis is a superb hotel in the middle of Burgundy. We got a magnificent room in this very beautiful restored building. The small brasserie 'Botica', adjacent to the hotel, is partially run by disabled people and the profits also go to their organisation. It has a beautiful garden terrace bordering the Armançon river, next to the Burgundy Canal. This place is a real gem.

United KingdomThe breakfast is on a do it yourself basis which was fine except that instructions for the coffee maker which were in French seemed a bit vague and in the end we decided to have tea and spare ourselves the hassle.
Lovely location on the Burgundy canal, very convenient for exploring the area. Interesting large former mill situated close to the road and approximately 1 mile from Ancy le Franc. We stayed for two nights and the host recommended a place to go for an evening meal. She very kindly telephoned and booked for us and we walked along the canal for a kilometre and sat at a table overlooking the canal.

LebanonWe booked 2 rooms. We received 1 with a parking view. when I inquired Mr Jean about our second room and politely asked for a better view, Mr Jean repeatedly laughed in a mocking and condescending way, saying, “Who are you to get a room with a view?” As he walked downstairs, he kept laughing to himself and murmuring inappropriately in front of my family.
What’s the value of a nice hotel if it’s run by someone who shows such disrespect to guests? He spoiled our night! We wished we hadn't gone there.

United KingdomThe restaurant adjacent to the property was sadly closed as it was a Sunday, but we went to the nearby town to get pizza instead. The room was also slightly warm, but we were provided a fan which helped.
A stunning property with beautiful renovation inside. The facilities were great and we enjoyed our night. Easy to access, clean and friendly hosts.
