Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainNo complaints in general. For the paid price, it's a good accommodation for a short stay in a great location. Would recommend the hotel installing mosquito screens on the windows (we were in the last floor and could get hot). We had 7 mosquitoes in the room and had to close the window during the night.
Location, staff is nice!

Italyno complaints.
This structure was in the middle of the old city and was from the same era. This gave the lodger a feel for daily life. The owner was very welcoming and congenial. The restaurant below was excellent .

IrelandThe staircase could have better lighting perhaps.
The locataion is very good for the old part of the city with lots of lovely shops nearby. It's an old hotel with lots of character. Lovely coffee and croissants in the morning. Luke and Anais are excellent hosts and were very friendly and helpful with lots of restaurant recommendations and general info. for the 4 days that we stayed at their hotel.

New ZealandThis is not so much a question of ´not liking' an aspect of the hotel but be aware that a lodging of this era will not have a lift and the stairs are steep and narrow; so don't arrive with a big, heavy suitcase.
Well-located for exploring the old city. Friendly, helpful staff who made us feel welcomed. We enjoyed its old-world character.

United StatesQuirky old hotel in a very old building with a cafe/bar on the ground floor. Owner/attendant was extremely friendly and helpful. No elevator, the stairs will test your sobriety. Nevertheless, really enjoyed staying here at a fantastic location in a fantastic city.

United StatesWhen you enter the building at night, the hallway is very dark. We had to use a cell phone light to navigate to the next door where we found the stairwell light.
Bedroom and bathroom were both good sized. Loved the beamed ceilings. Easy walk from the train station.

United StatesBe aware that Bayonne is pretty much shut down on Sundays. No shops are open and very few places to eat. This hotel’s bar/front desk is also closed. I was able to get in & out because I had the door code.
The front desk/bar ladies were nice. The room was comfortable but basic. The breakfast was decent, with fresh-squeezed juice. The front desk lady assured me that my top-floor room was “tres tranquille” (quiet) and it was.

Hotel le Port-Neuf is an easy 5 minute walk from the General de Gaulle car park and is in Rue Port-Neuf, which is a narrow pedestrian street in the middle of the old town and one of the most famous. The hotel is a simple, private hotel and bar and the welcome was very friendly. Our superior room (no6) is on the first floor overlooking the street and is spacious and comfortable. To be honest, I book a superior room on the basis that it will usually be larger, and that is certainly the case here. It is however nicely designed and has easy chairs, desk and a nice picture on the wall, and the bathroom is modern and smart. People used to upmarket, modern hotels might decry the lack of a wardrobe and chest of drawers, but we are fine with a shelf and a clothes rail, because that is often what traditional hotels in ancient buildings are like. Obviously the only potential downside re our room being at the front is potential noice from the street later on, but it turned out not to be a problem as far as pedestrians are concerned. I have to say however that we were wakened at about 6 o’clock each morning by the noice of a delivery truck parking just outside the hotel and unloading pallets of goods for the store opposite. We got used to it and didn’t mind too much, but it is something to think about if it would bother you having a front facing room. We elected to have breakfast in the hotel and it is a simple affair but very nice and we enjoyed freshly squeezed orange juice, yogurt, bread and croissants with various jams, and good coffee. We were certainly very comfortable for the three days we were here. We like the traditional style of the hotel and the owner and his wife were charming. Add its central location and nearby parking and this hotel ticked all the boxes for us. We would certainly stay here again and look forward to coming back.
