Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe had hoped to sit in the beautiful outside terrace of the Hotel but it was actually closed the evening we were there. We went to the cafe/restaurant on the other side of the road instead, and fortunately it was very lovely. We did get to sit in the pretty outside terrace of our hotel for breakfast in the morning!
Great location in a gorgeous little village. Clean room, room very spacious, tastefully decorated, comfy bed.

United KingdomThe lady that first showed us to the room was a little curt - not terribly friendly. There was no tea/coffee making facilities in the bedroom, and with breakfast only starting at 08.30, these days i think that is an oversight. Also we picked this hotel as it advertised itself as having a restaurant, but this was closed! Having said that, there was a fabulous restaurant 4 doors down! Whilst there were a few negatives, i would stay there again as it was comfortable and quiet and a really lovely little town.
Lovely comfortable large bed with decent pillows. Good sized room. Excellent location and easy to park outside.

NetherlandsAs it is an old building you can hear every step person is doing above you or in the corridor behind the door.

United KingdomNext time I will book earlier and ask for a room with a view! Our room (room 3) didn't have a view which made me feel claustrophobic.
Lovely old hotel/restaurant set in the heart of one of the loveliest villages in the area. The restaurant was closed mid week but that didn't matter because there were 2 other great restaurants in strolling distance. Quiet and peaceful. Nice breakfast. Will definitely stay again!

United KingdomNot advised of access to the room very steep and windey was an understatement. Had great difficulty in getting bags up and not for the elderly or people with walking difficulties. Access to the rooms through a metal door via the bar or past an open urinal and the toilet ?!
The hotel is really a B&B, no staff at night. However, it was an enjoyable stay, and the staff was very accommodating and pleasant . Room clean but very small. It's more of a one night stay accommodation

United KingdomDuring the week the entire village is shut. Nowhere to get food or drink after a long day exploring the area. It would be nice if the hotel had a residents lounge where guests could at least sit and consume their own food and drink on weekday evenings. Breakfast was extra (about £9 per person per day) but choice was limited.
Superb location in a lovely (and very quiet during the week) village. No dedicated parking buts lots of parking close by. The room was large with very comfortable beds (Room 5). Spacious bathroom with a good shower.

United KingdomWe arrived on a Sunday around 3pm on a very hot day and were shown to our very small room which had no AC as we thought it was advertised with...so had to keep the 1 small window and sky light open the whole time. We were told the restaurant was closing and the other 2 in the village were also closed but could drive to Pont Leveque ( 5mins) or Deauville ( 20 mins). There were no tea/ coffee facilities in the bedroom just a small bottle of water and once we'd bought our cases in the entrance to the bar and restaunt where the staff were was locked so we were unable to ask anyone for information. Pont Leveque only offered 1 possible restaurant to eat in which didn't open until 7pm so not wanting to risk the wait we drove the extra 20 minutes to Deauville which thankfully offered a good selection of eateries. Staff were functional but didn't make any attempt to ask how things were or exchange pleasantries, even on checkout!
Location was in a beautiful small French hamlet. Parking outside on the street was easy. Breakfast was nice in the courtyard although a little limited. Bathroom was good and bed comfortable.

United KingdomCategorically oversold on your website. A room above a bistro, steep narrow, tatty spiral stairs, no tea/coffee making facils, few of the other small details which we expected from a 4 star hotel. No out of hours contact details (no one else at all in the building on our first night) and the entrance)exit then was past an open pissoir in the ground floor corridor.Staff made no effort at all to engage with us , in French or english
For ‘hotel’ with 4 stars on your website there was little to like other than a large bed. Located in a very pretty village
