The staff are very helpful and the restaurant is superb value. The area is exceptionally quiet.

Our room was a bit dusty. Maybe not used as much as the others, since we had requested one on the ground floor without stairs. Towels were small and tattered.

The room was spacious and quiet, breakfast was good, and Pierre was a very gracious and helpful host. The dinner on the terrace was outstanding---both the quality of the food and the ambience. My only regret was that I was not traveling with my wife--she would have loved the whole experience! Also, great location: a few kms south of Alesia and its memories of Caesar and Vercingetorix (this was pure serendipity!) and a short ride from the Abbaye de Fontenay.

    Nothing really.

It’s certainly off the beaten track but accessible in lovely rolling hills countryside and a bit quirky, which we like. Basically, it is a number of ancient, sympathetically restored cottages in a rural French village in Burgundy. The two staff, we met were Paul and Pierre, both of whom spoke good English and nothing was too much trouble. Dinner was table de jour with five courses and pleasantly served in the restaurant, a short walk away from the cottages. All in all, it was a delightful comfortable experience.

There were no tea making facilities in the bedroom but easily available in the reception area.

Pre-arrival communication was great - advance email re dinner booking; manager called me day before arrival to confirm arrangements. Receptionist explained everything well to us on arrival and helped us to find everything that we needed - very helpful as Le Verger Sous Les Vignes is unusual and full of character. The table d'hote set dinner was tasty and served in a dining room with a fine view. Breakfast was pleasant. We arrived in the evening and left the next morning. This would make a good base for a longer stay. You won't be short of things to read.

The warm welcome, both in temperature and manner! The lovely big room, with its sofa, and the beautiful breakfast room, with fantastic views over the countryside. The views from the restaurant are also amazing. The generous acceptance of our dog.

The breakfast itself was adequate, but it would have been nice to actually see the buffet when being asked to choose. Warm croissants & stronger coffee would have been appreciated, too. Access to the restaurant is difficult for people like my husband who has mobility issues, & even the car struggled with the steep hill. Given the quirkiness of the accommodation, we rather expected a more relaxed, homely dining experience, but the food was very good.

Really quaint B&B in the middle of the country side. Rural setting, surrounded by nature. Excellent restaurant for dinner & breakfast spread in the morning.

A bit difficult to find, little signage on the road.

Very nice dinner at the restaurant above the B&B.

We booked this just as a stop off between south of France and getting back to Calais. It ended up being one of the highlights of our trip! Lovely room with a double on the ground floor and a twin above, with access to a shared communal kitchen if you want to self cater and a table to sit at with your wine, enjoying an amazing view. As we only had one night, we didn’t use the kitchen and went along to the attached restaurant. And how pleased we were that we did! There is no menu - everyone has whichever 5 courses the team is cooking that day. It was delicious and the kids ate it all too. The wine was also amazing, and only cost 10 euros a bottle! And all the staff - who I think are part of the same family? - were so kind, welcomed our kids into the area set up with books and toys at the back of the restaurant, and were happy to chat to us using their excellent English. (Our French is embarrassingly limited)

    Nothing! It was great
