Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

South AfricaIt's great that the rooms have their own bathrooms - but in one of the upstairs rooms, the bathroom door was so close to the toilet that my very tall husband (6 ft, 3 in) couldn't sit on the toilet and close the door at the same time. I (5 ft, 6 in) fit okay. Fortunately, my short mom was in the upstairs room while we were in a downstairs garden room that had plenty of space around the toilet. If you're a tall person, just request a room you'll fit in and they should be able to accommodate you!
The hotel's garden is lovely, and there's an equally lovely park just across the street - as a nature-lover in a foreign city, this put me immediately at ease. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable, even lending us Navigo passes to top up and use and accommodating a very late check-in and very early check-out. Speaking only English was not a problem in this hotel. It was very quiet as well - no street noise and the other guests were very respectful. The hotel provides a good breakfast for €13 pp: pastries, ham, cheese, yoghurt, boiled eggs (no fried eggs or bacon, but those aren't commonly available for breakfast in France), fruit, orange juice, and a variety of hot beverages, among other things. The short walk to the nearest metro made seeing the sights very easy!

NorwayMy stay at this hotel was truly enjoyable! The location is excellent – very close to the metro station, and you can get almost anywhere within a few minutes by bike. The hotel was quiet and peaceful, which made it easy to relax after a full day of sightseeing. The owner was incredibly helpful and extremely friendly – I felt genuinely welcomed and well taken care of from the very beginning. The breakfasts were very tasty, fresh, and thoughtfully prepared. I highly recommend this place – perfect for a comfortable and hassle-free stay!

Le Vert Galent is located on a quiet street. Public transport (bus and metro) connections are excellent. It is a short walk to the buzzy Rue Mouffetard district. Even though we arrived in a heatwave the room was comfortable as it had a good fan and the window (with external louvred shutters) opened onto the garden. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant next door serves tasty dishes from the Béarne region.

It was our third time in this beautiful, quiet, green little hotel. First was in 2016, then in 2020 and this year. Still beautiful and accomodating! Centrally located, metro station very close, very nice and helpful personnel, coffee at discretion! I highly recommend it and will stay again next time I visit Paris! I love Paris! ❤️

South AfricaThe facilities list states there is a kettle in the room however this isn't the case. There is a coffee/tea/hot chocolate station in the breakfast area.
The staff are friendly and helpful, and recognise each guest individually. The location is lovely - away from busy tourist areas, across the road from a park and easy walking distance to an elevated metro stop.

SwitzerlandLovely three-day stay at this small but charming Auberge. The hotel and restaurant staff were accommodating and helpful esp booking our taxi every time we needed one. The hotel's breakfast was filling. Free coffee from their coffee machine throughout the day. Not to forget, we had an enjoyable lunch at the hotel's restaurant. Service was great, provided by charming staff. The restaurant staff also willingly booked taxis for us. That's what we call excellent service! Location was ideal. Next to the Metro station and buses that took us directly to our destinations. The hotel is within walking distance to a big mall and the Chinatown area - Avenue Choisy! We were also intrigued by the hotel's historical association with Victor Hugo!
